FRC DAFTECHNOLOGYIn all aspects of DAF system and process design, FRC takes the engi-neered approach. That means each and every element is designed for specific process advantages.

Take, for example, the high-built PCL plate-pack DAF. Why the 15ft tall tank? It’s simple really - the extra height of the tank allows for longer plate packs, which increases effective surface area. More surface area means higher flow capacity.

How about the grid system - what’s the deal there? The grid locks sludge

in place so it can thicken and dewater before being skimmed for removal. Without it you get pre-mature migration and watery sludge. That makes the dewatering process inefficient, expensive, and messy.

Why the angled air dissolving tube? Why so many air injection points? Why use an ANSI recycle pump?

Sure, lots of companies build DAF systems - and some of them work pretty well. The question is, why do they build the way they do? Can they

justify the reasons for each design element? What does it mean when they can’t answer the why ques-tions?

We all understand design theory just can’t say what a real life demonstra-tion can. FRC maintains a fleet of pilot systems to help deliver that real world data.

Pilot systems come entirely skid- mounted, pre-wired and pre- plumbed. Controls, chemical feed pumps, water and sludge transfer pumps are all included. All you do is supply power and water, then watch the unit go to work. In the event you need them, the included job box has all the tools and parts required to keeps things running smoothly.

OIL/WATER SEPARATORS

Where API separators used to be the go-to oil recov-ery systems for refineries around the globe, technolo-gy advancements have made the old API design a thing of the past.

The CPI design employs an array of corrugated plates and cross-flow hydraulic process to reduce system footprint by upwards of 200%, when compared to a traditional API separator.

For heavy oils or gritty materials that tend to sink, the CPI comes standard with a V-shaped hopper-bottom and an automated auger & valve assembly to remove the settled sludge.

CORRUGATEDPLATE INTERCEPTOR (CPI)

In instances where wastewater is laden with particu-larly viscous oils, the IGS is designed with a rotating flight-and-chain skimmer to help skim those oils off the surface.

The IGS is essentially a plate pack DAF unit, minus the aeration system. Without adding any chemistry, the IGS can remove 99% or more of oil globules 50 microns in diameter or greater.

Long gone are the days when oil recovery required swimming pool-sized tanks that cost a hefty fortune - welcome to the future.

INCLINEDGRAVITY SEPARATOR (IGS)

Oil/Water Separators do just that - they separate oil from water. FRC units proactively accelerate the separation process, allowing for continuous oil separation and recovery that matches the needs of

industrial facilities. FRC has two engineered oil/water separator designs.
