First PersonIf writing in the first person, write as though you are a character/person inside the text.

Describe how you feel and what you are doing or have done.

Use the pronoun ‘I’

For example: Last year, I went to Spain with my family. I loved it!

Second PersonIf writing in the second person, talk to the reader directly.

Use the pronoun ‘you’.

The second person is used a lot non-fiction as well as in fiction texts.

For example: Before you begin, make sure that you have all of the tools listed above.

Third PersonIf you are writing in the third person, you write about other people or characters.

You use the character’s name or pronouns such as ‘he’, ‘she’ and ‘they’.

For example: Michelle sped off at top speed and was soon in first place. She couldn’t believe that she was going to win!

You can use the information you researched yesterday but you MUST make sure you write each sentence in third person!

Remember… you are not writing about yourself or the reader, you are writing about elephants.

*Hint*You can use other nouns and pronouns instead of repeating the word ‘elephants’. E.g. mammal, they, animal.

Step 1- Add your ones together. Do you need to exchange 10 ones for 1 ten? 7 ones + 4 ones= 11 ones. We exchange 10 ones for 1 ten.

Step 2- Add your tens together. Remember to check the door step. Do you need to exchange 10 tens for 1 hundred? 5 tens+ 4 tens +1 ten = 10 tens. We exchange 10 tens for 1 hundred.

Spell and move… get into the groove! Use some of your spellings from this week to create a workout. Each letter in the spelling has an exercise to go with it.

Put all the letters from each spelling together and you have created a workout. E.g. If your spelling is ‘gold’, you would do the exercises near G, O, L and D.
