ELECTRONIC GIVING OPTIONS During the present public health crisis, when the physical collections during Mass are gravely affected by reduced church attendance, online giving options abound!

Go to ihmatlanta.org/online-giving-options to learn about Give by Text, GivePlus Mobile and electronic giving through our parish website. Or just scan this QR code to be taken directly to our par-ish PayPal account.

Thank you for your good stewardship of IHM!

HAVE YOU REMEMBERED IHM IN YOUR WILL? A bequest to your parish will allow you to continue in death the Christian steward-ship you practice in life. The Catholic Foundation of North Georgia can assist you in remembering IHM in your Will. Those who make a bequest or a planned gift to IHM become members of the parish Legacy Society and the Archdiocesan Deo Gratias Society. For more information, contact Juliette Greco of the Catholic Foundation of North Georgia at [email protected] or 404-497-9440.

BEQUEST RECEIVED IHM gratefully acknowledges receipt of a generous bequest from the estate of Francie Mooney, who died last year. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.

THE TUESDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING is Giving Tuesday, and for the last sev-eral years, IHM parishioners and friends have made a tremendous difference that day through iGiveCathoic! In 2018, our donations purchased solar panels for the new rectory; in 2019 our gifts replaced all 300 light bulbs in the church with energy-efficient LEDs.

THIS YEAR’S GOAL for Giving Tuesday is to remedy the acoustical problems in our church. Invisible acoustical baffling will help reduce the reverb, or echo, in the church, to make the spoken word more intelligible.

A CHALLENGE GRANT of $15,000 has been promised, if we can raise at least an additional $15,000 toward this goal! Please join the effort!

GIVING TUESDAY is December 1, but early giving begins this Monday, Novem-ber 16. Go to https://atlanta.igivecatholic.org and search for Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

    THANK YOU!

SVDP THANKSGIVING PROGRAM St. Vincent de Paul will host their annual Thanksgiving Pro-gram virtually this year. Parishioners are invited to sponsor a family in need for Thanksgiving by purchasing them a meal. Parishioners do not need to cook the dinner—simply purchase the food and deliver to the family the week of Thanksgiving. Parishioners can also purchase grocery store gift cards and deliver to the family. This is an opportunity for you and your family to reach out to someone in need at Thanksgiving. Visit: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/ihmthanksgiving2020 to sign up. If you do not have access to a computer, please call 404-248-3977 between 9am and 8pm to speak with a SVDP member.

If you are unable to sponsor a family but would like to do-nate to SVDP for the Thanksgiving Program, donations can be dropped off or mailed to the parish office. Thank you!

HELP WANTED! We will resume the Sunday 5:00 p.m. mass next weekend, November 29. That will bring us back to our full pre-pandemic schedule of masses. As people begin to feel comfortable returning to mass in person, it’s important that we have as many masses to choose from as possible, in order to maintain safe social distance between everyone in church.

But for this to happen, we need you! If you are currently celebrating mass in person, please consider serving as a lector, mass guide, sacristan or audio/visual technician for any of our masses. Training is provided, and we guarantee you’ll find it rewarding to help your parish in this hour of need. For more information, please contact Jeff Bush at [email protected] or Shelly White at [email protected]. Thank you!

WORLD AIDS DAY December 1 Each year December 1 is a day to remember more than 33 million lives lost around the globe, including more than 700,000 people in the United States. It is a day to remember families and friends who have lost loved ones, caregivers at home and in health facili-ties and researchers who continue to search for an effective vaccine. It is a day to remember the millions of people who are living with HIV/AIDS, including 1.1 million in the U.S.

Archbishop Gregory Hartmayer, OFM Conv., will serve as the principal celebrant for the annual 2020 World AIDS Day Mass on Tuesday December 1 at 12 noon. The Mass will be streamed from http://livestream.com/archatl and the archdiocesan Facebook page. We hope you can join us.

MENTORS NEEDED FOR REFUGEE YOUTH Catholic Charities Atlanta’s Refugee Youth Mentoring Pro-gram is seeking volunteers who are ready to offer welcome and support to refugee teens (ages 12-17) through virtual mentoring. Mentors and mentees are paired one-on-one and meet weekly, spending time together in activities such as working on homework or pursuing shared interests. Cur-rently this opportunity entails “meeting” with kids virtually, with the hope to eventually meet in person once it is safe. Most of the refugee families we serve live in Clarkston, Tucker or Decatur. Mentors must be 21+ years old and willing to meet with mentee weekly for one year. In addi-tion, mentors need to complete an application, background checks, Safe Environment training and trainings on work-ing with youth (8 hours total). Contact Bryn Murphy at [email protected] for information or to get started.

SVDP GIVING TREE Please consider sponsoring a child in need at Christmas through the St. Vincent de Paul 2020 Giving Tree. “Virtual Christmas tags” will be available at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/ihmgivingtree2020 beginning Novem-ber 20.

If you do not have access to a computer to, please call 404-248-3977 between 9am and 8pm to speak with a SVDP member. For more information, please visit the parish website.
