TNG shipyard is based in the Port of Veracruz and situated within close proximity to offshore oil and gas facilities, busy trade lanes as well as to the most important routes of communication that in-terconnect South East USA, the Caribbean and México. ASD Tugboats construction TNG, certificated by SEMAR as one of the Mexican shipyards with more capacity and infrastructure for shipbuilding, carried out the shotblasting, shop primer the cutting and bevel of the more than 3,500 steel plates (with a weight of close to 5,500 ton.), used in the shipbuilding of the 16 tug ves-sels assigned by Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) to Mexico for it’s Minor Fleet Renovation Program.
More importantly, TNG is performing the full shipbuilding of 4 ASD Tugboats of the 7 vessels requested by PEMEX to Mexican Shipyards. Recently TNG has finished the construction of the third tugboat named “PEMEX Mixteco” and continues with the shipbuilding of one more which will be delivered in 2017.
Ship details PEMEX‘s ASD Tugboats built at TNG Shipyard will have a length of 31.5m and breadth of 11.2m, a draft of 4.2m and 12 knots of speed, two vessels will have a bollard pull of 50 tons and the other two will have a bollard pull of 60 tons. These four tugboats were designed especially to do operations at sea and port, such as:
« Seagoing and Harbour Towing. « Fire Fighting monitors. « Fighting Oil Pollution at sea using dispersants. « Rescue boat for salvage assistance. « Oil recovery.
