Did you know? Tunisia is the smallest country in northwestern Africa. You can find it at the very tip top of Africa on a map. It’s bordered by two big neighboring countries — Algeria and Libya — and the Mediterranean Sea too. About 40 percent of the country is taken up by the Sahara Desert, and if you like to watch movies (like “Star Wars” or “Indiana Jones”) you’ve seen the Sahara Desert in Tunisia! But Tunisia isn’t just the home to cool movies — it’s had its own share of fantastic stories too! Pirates, epic battles, nomadic people groups (that means people who move around a lot) and great empires have all been part of Tunisia’s history. Sounds like a storybook, doesn’t it? Back in the time of the Romans (around the same time that Jesus lived in Israel), Tunisia first heard about the gospel and God’s message of love for the world. But over the centuries, Muslim dynasties (a dynasty is a family who rules a country for generations) ruled over Tunisia and brought with them their religion of Islam. Today, almost everyone living in Tunisia is Muslim and people aren’t excited about Christianity. There are only 10 languages spoken in Tunisia, and half of them have the whole Bible already! So we can pray that more and more people would find out about the Bible in their own language so that they can learn about Jesus and how much he loves them. “Thank you” in Arabic: Shukran (shoo krahn) Tunisia Tunisia Fast Facts: Number of people: 10,887,000 Main language: Arabic Main religion: Islam Total # of languages: 10 # of languages ... without any of the Bible: 2 with part of the Bible: 3 with a New Testament: 0 with a whole Bible: 5 Let’s pray! Let’s pray!Dear Jesus,

Thank you for Tunisia and for all the people who live there. Thank you that half of the languages spoken in Tunisia have the Bible already! Help people to want to read it so they can learn about you and how much you love them, because you love us all so much, no matter where we’re from or what language we speak.
