EMPLOYMENT

TAFE Queensland is working with the Department of Education in Nauru to improve their TVET system and thus create employment opportunities for citizens. This entailed an extensive review into Nauru’s TVET system to create a five-year strategic plan and ongoing assistance with the development and implementation of a National Qualifications Framework. TAFE Queensland, through its specialist trade centre SkillsTech, is now working towards meeting Nauru’s future industry and community TVET needs.

CASE STUDY

Technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and skills for employability programs are receiving the attention of governments worldwide. This is due to the overwhelming evidence to demonstrate that TVET can play a pivotal role in supporting poverty alleviation and inclusive economic growth.

Through best practice models, TAFE Queensland is supporting TVET systems throughout Asia and the Pacific. With many of these countries at different stages of economic development, we undertake thorough reviews before developing customised and targeted solutions.

We provide capacity building training and assistance in:

“The knowledge and skills acquired by the fellows are being utilised to implement a range of practical reforms in the Islamic Boarding School system.” Mansyur, Chairman, Sabilil Rasyad Boarding School.
