Area of Application: - Government Buildings - Palaces - Military Facilities - Embassies - Banks - Airports - Power Stations - Refineries - Industrial Areas Product Description: Tyre-Killer with separate electro-hydraulic drive unit – consisting of an underground casing and heavy-duty steel spikes determined to destroy tyres, suspension and axles of a vehicle in case of unauthorized intrusion. Blocking width: from 2 m to 6 m Installation depth of casing: 570 mm Blocking height of spikes above level: 475 mm Fully raised blocking position of spikes: 60° The underground casing consists of an all around closed sheet steel casing with concrete anchors. Within the casing the bearings for the hydraulic cylinder and the spikes are installed. The top of the casing is equipped with a cover which allows passage of even the heaviest vehicles. It is designed to withstand a wheel load of 100 kN, according to DIN 1072.

The upper cover includes slits which are covered while the blocking spikes are in raised position. This prevents dust etc. to fall into the underground casing and keeps it clean. The solid blocking spikes are welded to the solid rotation axis in a distance of approx. 200 mm to each other. The axis is connected with the hydraulic cylinder via a lever system. The blocking spikes element is electro-hydraulically operated with an electric motor of adequate size (230/400 V, 50/60 Hz 3-phase current). The electro-hydraulic drive unit as well as the electrical PLC-control is installed in a weather-proof lockable steel casing for outdoor installation (max. 20 m distance from tyre killer). Raising time of the blocking element: approx. 2 sec. Lowering time of the blocking element: approx. 2 sec. Operating Equipment: 1 no. push-button set „Up-Stop-Down“ (box-type) to be located in the guard house or similar. Long-Term Corrosion Protection: Corrosion protection consisting of one zinc layer plus two layers of plastic or powder coating according to TESCON-4S-Coating. Colour of plastic coating: - steel blocking spikes: red (RAL 3000)

Drive Unit

Electro-hydraulic compact drive unit in a special lockable steel cabinet with ventilation. Steel cabinet with a fixing frame to be installed to a concrete base which is to be provided by the customer. Distance between steel cabinet to tyre killer must not exceed 20 m.

Blocking Spikes Element

Consists of heavy-duty steel spikes welded to a solid steel rotation axis. Centre to centre distance of spikes approx. 200 mm. The axis is connected with the hydraulic cylinder via a special lever system.

Underground Casing

Solid welded steel casing with two outlets at the lowest point of the casing for drainage purposes. 2 nos. steel connection sleeves ND 100 as provision for plastic pipes to be provided by the customer as a link to the site drainage system. The top of the casing is equipped with steel cover segments which allow passage of even the heaviest vehicles. Wheel load 100 kN according to DIN 1072. The upper cover includes slits which are covered while the blocking spikes are in raised position.
