President’s Message. President Mary entertained us with a great DVD presentation with pictures compiled by Mac and put on DVD, with music, by President Mary’s brother, Steve. Before starting her presentation, Mary asked how many Past Presidents were in attendance. She asked all of them to stand in recognition of the past leadership our club enjoyed through the years. Getting back to the presentation… ..Everyone was included in this DVD presentation, which will go on sale as a fund raiser. Once the presentation was over, Mary gave a very short message thanking everyone for the successful year she had. Without the help of club members, support from her Board, Mary said she couldn’t have done it. Mary thanked Dave for the great support he provided as well as all the Board members and Directors. Thank you Mary for the great year we enjoyed under your direction!

Certificates of Appreciation. Mary presented her Board and Directors with Certificates of Appreciation for the great support provided during the Rotary Year. She also made special award presentations to Eddie Baumgartner, Hifumi Umeda (Award will be presented at our first meeting of the new Rotary Year meeting), PP Rodger McCloskey, and PP Uncle Milt Sagon for their Service Above Self support during the Rotary Year. Guest Speaker’s Message. We were very honored to have as our guest speaker, none other than our longest club member, Bill Paty. Bill joined our Club back in ’48 and has made significant contributions to our club during these 57 years! PE Dave Bramlett introduced Bill to our Club and guests. Bill is a WWII Vet, who parachuted behind enemy lines; was captured three times, escaped three times; and was almost shot by Russian soldiers, until he convinced them that he was the Good Guy. He then hooked up with the Russians and fought his way to Germany, where he was able to join up with the American Army. Bill started by giving us a history of our club since becoming a member 57 years ago. He listed off about 37 Past Presidents and gave a thumbnail of what they accomplished during their year as president. He then told we have a rich history with a solid foundation laid by all

the Past Presidents. He also told us that to be a successful club, everyone had to be involved; that our proposed projects for the year are worthy of our undertaking.

Presidents Message. President Dave kept it short and to the point. He will do his best to lead the club through the year, but he can’t do it alone. It will take everyone to help make this Rotary Year a success. He will be as good as the Club membership is. Without our help, he can do nothing. David thanked Mary for her leadership and willingness to keep the club going, as well as the knowledge she passed on to him. He will do his best to carry on where PP Mary left off. PP Mary then presented President Dave with the first copy of the Club Directory containing pictures of all Members. Thanks to Mac and Gerry for their hard work providing the information and pictures. Classy!
