Specific requirements
Material
The manufacturer shall declare which raw material is used to manufacture
the ductwork components.
NB Regranulate or milled material may not be used.
The dimensions and tolerances must also be specified.
See the Air Excellent technical data sheets
Operating system pressure
The manufacturer shall declare the operating system pressure as a
maximum negative and positive pressure.
Air Excellent -2,000 Pa to +2,000 Pa

Air Excellent – TÜV SÜD quality mark
Specific requirements
Air-tightness
The manufacturer shall declare the air-tightness class and at which test
pressure(s) this air-tightness class was achieved.
Class D for AE23c, AE34c, AE48c, AE35sc and AE55sc
Class C for AE45sc
Test pressures (+ and -): 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 1,000 and
2,000 Pa
Pressure drop
The manufacturer shall declare the pressure drop of all ducts and ductwork
components.
See the Air Excellent technical data sheets

Air Excellent – TÜV SÜD quality mark
Specific requirements
Operating temperature
The manufacturer shall declare the operating temperature at which no
significant change to the material characteristics shall take place.
Air Excellent fulfilled the above requirements between -20°C and +60°C
Reaction to fire
The manufacturer shall declare the reaction to fire class, which is
determined in accordance with EN 13501-1.
Air Excellent: class E
Resistance against external pressure
The manufacturer shall declare the resistance to external pressure. This is
the maximum height of concrete which can be poured onto the duct
without significant change to the cross-section.
Air Excellent: 200mm for all ducts

Air Excellent – TÜV SÜD quality mark
Specific requirements
Ring stiffness
The ring stiffness is tested in accordance with ISO 9969.
Air Excellent
AE23c 10,83 kN/m²
AE34c 7,85 kN/m²
AE48c 7,75 kN/m²
AE35sc 11,08 kN/m²
AE45sc 1,33 kN/m²
AE55sc 5,85 kN/m²

Air Excellent – TÜV SÜD quality mark
Specific requirements
Bending radius
The manufacturer shall declare the bending radii of all bendable
components at which the cross-section does not change significantly.
See the Air Excellent technical data sheets
Mechanical connection
All components of the ductwork shall be designed so that no additional
materials are required to connect and seal them.
Air Excellent: all ducts passed the minimum test requirements
Flexibility
This test checks if the duct can be bended using “normal” manual force
and no damage is caused by the bending.
Air Excellent: all ducts passed the minimum test requirements
16 | proprietary information
Air Excellent – TÜV SÜD quality mark
Specific requirements
Sagging
The manufacturer shall declare the maximum distance between supports
at which no sagging will occur.
Air Excellent: 2m for all ducts
Microbial resistance
To pass this test the manufacturer must ensure that all surfaces of the
ductwork components which come in contact with the air are microbial
resistant. Bacterial cultures are applied to the surface of the ductwork
components and the number bacteria are counted at pre-defined time
intervals. The number of bacteria must be reduced by at least 99.00% after
72 hours.
Air Excellent: more than 99.99% were reduced in less than 72 hours
Emissions into the air
This test determines if there are any emissions of volatiles from the material
into the air.
Air Excellent: no emissions of volatiles

Air Excellent – TÜV SÜD quality mark
Specific requirements
Anti-static function
The anti-static function is the surface resistance of the ductwork
component and must be lower than 1012 Ω to be considered anti-static.
Air Excellent: < 1012 Ω for all ductwork components
Cleaning
The manufacturer shall describe how the system must be cleaned,
including which tools to use, whereby no damage to the air handling
surface of the duct or component will occur.
Air Excellent: requirements fulfilled using the WÖHLER tools shown below:
