Licensing and Upgrade Path
Upgrading from off-box MobilityManager 1.2(5) or later to CM 6.X:
Each Mobility-enabled user (RDP) consumes 2 DLUs in addition to the required DLUs for users Cisco IP phone (adjunct device).
Each Mobility-enabled user without an associated Cisco IP phone consumes 4 DLUs
When upgrading from Cisco Unified MobilityManger 1.2(5) or later to CM 6.X: Each MobilityManager user license is converted to 2 DLUs per user. (Must send SO/PO # to [email protected])
Licensing considerations:
Must be on MM version 1.2(5) or later
Export settings in MM
Import via Bulk Administration in CM 6.X

Scalability
Cisco Unified Mobility supports the following capacities:
Mobility-Enabled User: A user that has an RDP and at least one RD configured
Capacity numbers are based on a single RD per user
As number of RDs per user increases, the number of mobility-enabled users decreases
Mobility-Enabled Users per Cluster
Mobility-Enabled Users per Node
MCS-7845 15,000 3,750
MCS-7835 10,000 2,500
MCS-7825 4,000 1,000

Redundancy
Redundancy for RD and RDP configuration provided via device pools/CM groups
Mobile Connect (including desk/remote phone pickup), Enterprise Feature Access, and Mid-Call feature functionality are all natively redundant
Gateway and PSTN access redundancy as usual
No redundancy for Mobile Voice Access
– If Publisher is down, MVA is not available
– Enterprise Feature Access Two-Stage Dialing is still possible
If Publisher is down, changes to Mobile Connect status (on/off) via Enterprise Feature Access are not saved (and therefore do not take affect)
X X

PSTN Connectivity
DTMF Relay:
Mid-call features and Enterprise Feature Access 2-Stage Dialing require out-of-band DTMF relay between enterprise PSTN gateway and CUCM
TDM Connectivity:
Mobile Connect functionality is supported only with PRI for PSTN connections (no T1-CAS, FXO, FXS, or BRI connections)
VoIP Connectivity:
Unified Mobility call flows and functionality are supported over service provider VoIP clouds with SIP and H.323.
– G.711 required between enterprise gateway and CUCM for MVA. May need transcoders if inbound call leg is G.729
– OOB DTMF is required for mid-call features and Enterprise Feature Access 2-stage dialing. Will need MTP if enterprise gateway is SIP and does not support KPML or SIP Notify.

Caller ID
For Unified Mobility deployments, customer should work with their service provider to ensure the following:
Inbound Caller ID
If Enterprise Feature Access (mid-call features or 2-stage dialing) is required, service provider must send appropriate inbound caller ID to enterprise.
Outbound Caller ID
If original caller ID for Mobile Connect calls is to be sent to mobility user‟s RD, service provider must not restrict caller ID on trunk to only DIDs assigned to that trunk.
If unable to provide unrestricted caller ID, then ensure meaningful enterprise caller ID is sent.

What does the ASA Phone Proxy achieve?
Secures remote phones by forcing the phones to do encrypted signaling and media
Performs certificate based authentication with remote phones
Terminates TLS signaling from Phone and initiate TCP to CUCM
Terminates SRTP and initiate RTP/SRTP to the called party.

Cisco IP phone Mobility through Office Extend
Office Extend provides the Enterprise VoWLAN capability to a remote location, using an open Internet connection. Ideal for providing all the Enterprise IP Telephony features to a home worker, or remote site.
Easy to Deploy – The Office Extend Access Point provides the DTLS VPN tunnel back to the Enterprise. No end user configuration required for the Wireless IP phone.
Easy to Use – The same Wireless IP phone that is used in the Office, can be used at the remote location. Same phone number, same voicemail, same directory services
Easy to Manage – Phone can receive firmware updates and configuration changes remotely
Secure – The Office Extend Access Point creates a DTLS VPN tunnel, the Wireless IP phone uses the same security methods at the remote site as it would use in the Office.

Each UC Proxy session supports one IP Phone to register, when the phone has a single connection to the CUCM cluster (no backup CUCM). If backup is setup, each connection to the backup CUCM consumes one TLS Proxy session and requires an additional UC Proxy license. For example, to support 100 IP Phones, each with a primary and a backup connection to the CUCM cluster, a UC Proxy license of 200 sessions is needed.
