Livermore Knights of Columbus Baby Gift Drive

The Livermore Knights of Columbus hosted a baby gift drive that collected over $5,700 of diapers, clothing and gift cards for families with newborn infants. This event was held at St. Michael Church during all services on Sunday, April 29. The event coordinator, Knight Nick Libby, needed a week to inventory and organize the 896 gifts graciously donated by parishioners.
The Knights of Columbus delivered these items to Birthright of Concord, an organization dedicated to offering loving encouragement and practical support to pregnant women in crisis. The Director, Libby Field, was very thankful for these desperately needed supplies that will make life so much easier for women who courageously choose life for their babies when faced with unplanned pregnancies.
This is the second local gift drive in six months that Nick Libby organized. The first netted $2,600 in gifts at St. Charles Borromeo Church. They were donated to Livermore’s Pregnancy Resource Center. Nick is happy to put his efforts into supporting these worthy causes. He says “We must honor and respect these brave women who bring new lives into the world under challenging circumstances. Gifts of this nature make a huge difference for them.”

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal organization devoted to works of charity. They raise funds through various community events and donate the net proceeds to worthy causes, mostly in Livermore and the Tri Valley region.
