Mr. and Mrs. Paul Levine celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary at their home here with 40 gusets Saturday eve- ning. Thursday, May 25, 1972 Page One Memorial Day Para<le To Be In Phoenicia Phoenicia, May 25. — Plans for the Memorial day parade are being made by the Ameri- can Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and other Shandaken or- ganizations. The parade will be held on Monday, starting with the lineup at the inter- section of route 214 and Romer street at 9 a.m. Leading the parade will be the Legion color guard, with a drum and bugle corps from the Phoenicia elementary school under the direction of Ronnie Westervelt. Groups of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies and Cub Scouts will follow. Managers and players of the Shandaken Little League will be in the lineup, with members of local fire departments in the rear. The parade will leave aibout 9:45 and turn 'left at the inter- section down Main street to the parish field, where exer- cises will be held in memory of war dead. The main speaker will be Rev. Ralph Darmstadt of the Memorial United Meth- odist church at Shandaken. Rev. Joseph Loftus, assistant pastor at St. Francis de Sales parish in Phoenicia, will give the benediction. Phoenicia, May 25.—^Despite the steady downpour Saturday, the two-day town of Shanda - ken recycling program gath- ered enough material over the weekend to fiH two large town trucks. The material was taken to Kingston Sunday af- ternoon. Material collected consisted of paper, glass and alvmiinum c£uis. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Loveless volunteered the use of their bam as an emergency depot when the rain threatened the collection of paper Satur- day. The loaded trucks were driven to Kingston by Joe Ciardi and Dan Aley, accom- panied toy Town Highway Su- perintendent Archie Aley. Other trucks for the drive were do- nated and driven by Howard Umhey and James Gardner. The drive was sponsored by 1the Shandaken Environmental ' Advisory council, dn conjimc- - taon with the Ulster county en - vironmental task force. Phoenicia, May 25.—^Despite the steady downpour Saturday, the two-day town of Shanda­ken recycling program g ath ­ered enough m ateria l over the weekend to fiH two large tow n trucks. The m aterial was taken to K ingston Sunday af­ternoon.

M aterial collected consisted of paper, glass and alvmiinum c£uis. Mr. and Mrs. E lm er Loveless volunteered the use of th e ir b am as an emergency depot when the rain threatened the collection of paper S atu r­day.

The loaded trucks w ere driven to K ingston by Joe Ciardi and Dan Aley, accom­panied toy Town Highway Su­perintendent Archie Aley. O ther trucks for the drive were do­nated and driven by Howard Umhey and Jam es Gardner.

U lster county Board of Cooper- otive Educational services has been engaged in fabricating a cam p ibuilding for the YMCA fo r th e “Y” camp in Shokan. The building, which wiU m eas­u re 20 feet by 60 feet, is being fabricated in sections, which will be assembled on a prev­iously prepared foundation.
