The excellent properties of Festool’sproducts will convince you. Topquality really begins with the cuttermaterial. Festool uses tungsten-carbidealloys for its cutters that impress withtheir superbly high micro-grain qualityand closeness. Cutter materials.

HW cutters (formerly HM cutters) alsowithstand tremendous loads whencutting hardwood, laminated materialsand plastics. HW cutters are availablein different designs: solid carbide-metal cutters, tipped cutters and tools with reversible carbide tips.

The cutter material HS (formerly HSS)is particularly suitable for soft materials.HS cutters are available as straight orspiral-shaped.

This solid carbide cutter is a heavy-dutytool. It even withstands the toughestdemands especially where cutters of smalldiameter would easily break. The groundcarbide-metal standard bit also has alonger service life if used for drillingboard-type material.

The solid carbide tip spiral groove cut-ters are produced from cylindrical car-bide rods specially developed for pro-cessing mineral materials. The cuttersare characterised by their high securityand against fracture and rapid and neatwork.

These roughing and finishing cutterswith chip breakers were developed forfast routing of cutouts, eg basins. A specially developed solid TC rod wasalso used for the production of thesecutters.

Chamfer cutter undercut: the first stepwith this tool is to cut a chamfer.Advantage: the counter does not have to be turned.

The rounding chamfer cutter is then used to connect the chamfer with aradius. This produces a modern counter.

The system was designed for 2 or 3 rebated boards with a thickness of12.7 mm.

Simple but ingenious.

If the cutter blade does not match theball bearing exactly after sharpening,the transition to the cutter blade can be readjusted by shifting the axial ballbearing. This gives Festool basin cuttersa long service life.

System benefits

The application versatility of the MFS 400 and MFS 700

makes them multi-talents: by sliding the profiles in

longitudinal or transverse direction, the required cutout

size is set simply and quickly. The tedious production of, or

searching for, suitable templates is now a thing of the past.

If a large cutout is required, the extension of the basic

model is childs play.

A wide variety of cutout sizes and radii can be cut with

extension profiles ranging from 200 mm to 2000 mm.

The tried and tested Festool one-hand lever clamp or

G-clamp can be used to secure the templates. They are

simply inserted in the securing groove in the profile and

clamped.

Handling

Apart from the production of rectangular cutouts, the

multi-routing template is ideal for cutting circles.

The circle cutter insert is inserted in the inside grooves

of the template and the profiles are pushed together to

the stop.

A simple hole in the centre point of the circle on the

workpiece is used for inserting the centering mandrel.

By sliding the circle cutter insert on the scale, the radius

can be set exactly. Cutting a circle couldn’t be easier.

Further extension profiles allow you to cut

string-boards.

The tread length is indicated by the template

according to the steps. Then slide the angle

stops into the guide slots and align.

The string-board is processed through simple

parallel shifting of the template.

Flat cuts can be made simply and neatly with the MFS-FS

router carriage. Set the multi-routing template to the desired

dimension and secure to the workpiece with screw-on lever

clamps. The router carriage is pushed on and secured.

The router can now produce full-surface cuts quickly and

accurately, eg for hollows in kitchen worktops.

With the worktop routing template APS 900, corner and

panel connections can be produced for worktops. The APS

is designed as standard for board depths of 600 mm. By

sliding the template on the profile, worktops with a depth

of up to 900 mm can be cut.

The APS 900 is braced with the workpiece by lever or screw

clamps via the securing groove. The templates for the board

connectors can be moved freely on the profile. An ideal

template for precise fitting of fixtures.
