Now the time has come and God has appointed Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. They are heading into an uncharted land where a new adventure awaits. And before they head into the new land, Joshua instructs them to get their provisions ready. This week, you are challenged to prepare your family to be generous. In our community, there are people who do not have their every day needs met. You might have seen them standing at street corners, outside stores or other busy locations. This week your family needs to take a trip to Dollar Tree (or comparable store) and buy personal supplies that a homeless person might need. This could include: toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, water bottles, socks, tissues, band aids, comb, mints, granola bars, and fruit snacks. Once purchased, make time as a family to assemble the bags by putting one of each item in a gallon size Ziploc bag. Next, work together to write an encouraging note to add to each bag. These notes can be as simple as, “God loves you!” or “You are special!”. Lastly, put the completed bags in your family car and be on the lookout for opportunities to give the bags away and be generous to those who need it. week 2 Uncharted Faith in God Joshua 2: Rahab BIBLE PASSAGE: Joshua 2:1-16 MAIN POINT: Choose Faith KEY PASSAGE: Joshua 2:11 ESV “And as soon as we heard it, our hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in any man because of you, for the LORD your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.” Family Footprint Activity: SECRET SERVING SPIES Supplies: various items to perform acts of kindness Despite Rahab’s reputation in the land, she is known as a model of hospitality, mercy, faith, patience, and forgiveness because of her faith in God. What does this mean? God provided for the people! They needed dry ground and the Jordan River stopped flowing. God provided then, and He provides now! We have so much to be thankful for! We can show our gratitude for all that they Lord does by showing kindness. • Find one rock for each member of your family. Write a kind word or phrase onto the rock. We are so excited that you have chosen to join us on this adventure with Compass Kids. We are excited to see what lies ahead in the “Uncharted”!

We are encouraging your family to commit intentional time together each week exploring what it means to be generous.

Each week a trail on the map will lead to the following activities:1. Read the scripture together as a family.2. Say the main point aloud together.3. Learn the memory verse throughout the

week.4. Complete the Family Footprint Activity.

Once you have completed the weekly activities, a parent needs to initial the map for the week.

On the weekends of March 9 & 10 and March 16 & 17, your child will bring their completed and initialed map to Compass Kids to receive the victory bear completion sticker for their water bottle.

The first weekend your child attends Compass Kids during Uncharted they will receive a water bottle! Every weekend throughout the Uncharted series (January 26–March 3) we will give out a new sticker to add to the water bottle.

These can ONLY be earned by attending Compass Kids each weekend. Your child must be present to get that weekend’s sticker! In addition, your child will receive a special final sticker for completing all the map activities together as a family! Your child will want to have our victory bear!
