I you are seeking a degree through

NDSU DCE or want to take morethan 15 credits, view the admissionrequirements online at the O ce oAdmission website at www.ndsu.edu/prospective_students .

non-degree seeKing

Non-Degree Seeking status is reservedor students not seeking a degree but

who want to enroll in a limited numbero classes through NDSU DCE. Non-Degree Seeking students are permittedto register or up to 15 credits and arenot eligible or nancial aid.

All degree eligible classes through Distance & Continuing Education(DCE) require admission to NDSU. DCE classes are not available throughthe Tri-College program. Tri-College students must be admitted to NDSUprior to registering for classes. Contact the Of ce of Admission for moreinformation on admission requirements, forms to ll out, and applicationfee. Listed below are several options for admission to NDSU.

The process for registering for Distance & Continuing Education (DCE)classes is the same as registering for all other NDSU classes. A currentschedule of classes offered through Distance & Continuing Educationis available at www.ndsu.edu/dce which will include the class numberneeded for registering through Campus Connection.

Wait lists

I you have added yoursel to a waitlist or a class, be sure to check

your class schedule as you may beautomatically added to the classwhen a spot becomes available.

You will not be automatically dropped from a Distance &Continuing Education class for non-attendance or non-participation. You must drop via Campus Connection.

If you are a new student to NDSU, you will need to complete the EnrollServices process, prior to accessing your web-based class. This processwill give you access to NDSU e-mail, Blackboard, and the NDSU Library,Your NDSU e-mail address serves as the of cial means of communicationwith NDSU, so be sure to check it regularly.

WeB-Based classes:

Most web-based classes use alearning management system calledBlackboard to post syllabi, materials,assignments, and communication rominstructors. Some web-based classesare sel -paced and some have speci cdeadlines or tests and assignments. Inyour Blackboard account they will belisted under the “My Courses” section.I you need help accessing yourclass contact Distance & ContinuingEducation at [email protected] or1-800-726-1724 or 701-231-7015.

face-to-face:

Face-to- ace classes run the same asother on-campus ace-to- ace classes,but o ten have evening start times

or may be o ered at o -campuslocations. Show up or class at theindicated time and location just as youwould or any other class. For HNESactivity-based classes please dress incom ortable clothes and shoes. Checkthe “class notes” section o the “coursedetails” in Campus Connection or anyadditional in ormation.

print-Based classes:Most print-based classes have a printedpacket that includes a syllabus, materials,assignments, and communication rominstructors. Most packets and requiredtextbooks are purchased throughthe NDSU Bookstore. Coursework iscompleted at the student’s pace and isturned in to the Distance & ContinuingEducation o ce by the end o thesemester. You may mail your completedpacket to Distance & ContinuingEducation but be sure to make aphotocopy or your records.

TUITIONAND FEES

Distance & Continuing Education (DCE) tuition may be paid throughBison Connection or via Campus Connection. Please review your tuitionaccount balances online via Campus Connection to avoid any confusionabout amounts owed.

tuition cap statement:

Distance & Continuing Education classes count toward credit totals but are notcovered under the NDSU tuition cap and are not eligible or waivers. You will be

charged or each DCE credit over the ull-time credit load (12- all/spring, 9-summer).I you are enrolled in ewer credits than ull-time you will be charged per credit justlike regular courses. Please review your tuition account balances online via CampusConnection to avoid any con usion about amounts owed. North Dakota NationalGuard members may be eligible or a 25 percent waiver.

tuition cap:

Every Distance & Continuing Educationclass will have the “Tuition Cap

Statement” listed under the “class notes”section o the “class details” in CampusConnection. The tuition cap statementindicates that the class is not included inthe tuition cap and will be charged on aper credit basis regardless o the numbero credits you take.

dce tuition rate:

Classes o ered through Distance &Continuing Education are charged atthe NDSU North Dakota residency rate,regardless o your location or residency.A current NDSU tuition rate schedule isavailable on the Bison Connection website.

dce student fees:

Student ees or classes o eredthrough Distance & Continuing

Education are charged at the currentNDSU student ee rate up to the rst12 credits or all/spring semester or9 credits or summer semester.
