VC flags off 'Unilorin Net' for cheaper, better telecomm platform By Fatima Abubakre

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON), has flagged off a new revolutionary telecommunication

initiative that would provide cheaper and more efficient service to members of the University community.

Tagged “Unilorin Closed User Group” (Unilorin CUG), the service, which is powered by Nigeria’s foremost indigenous telecommunications company, Globacom Nigeria Limited, will offer members of the University community an opportunity to make free 24-hour calls to subscribers on the company’s network with a modest monthly service subscription of N600.00 only.

Flagging off the service in his office last Tuesday (November 17, 2015), the Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) N.Y.S. Ijaiya, described the package, also known as “Unilorin Net”, as a “mouth-watering offer” from Globacom.
