Tangkuban PerahuDayang Sumbi was exiled in the jungle, because she was unmarried but pregnant. She gave a birth

to a baby boy and named him Sang Kuriang. And he became a young and hard working boy. He was a good hunter too.

One day he went hunting with his dog, Si Tumang. In the bush he saw a pig, Wayungyang. He wanted to shoot Wayungyang but Si Tumang hindered him. He was angry at it and killed it, and then took its heart home. He cooked it and ate it with his mother. When he told that it was Si Tumang's heart, she was very angry and hit Sang Kuriang 's head with a spoon. And he ran away and left his mother to the east. He did not know himself and forgot his name. He was about 16 years of age.

After a long time Sang Kuriang came back to the jungle where his mother lived. She looked younger than her age, so Sang Kuriang fell in love with her. "Will you marry me?" one day he asked her. But Dayang Sumbi refused because she recognized that he was her son. He insisted to marry her and Dayang Sumbi asked him two marriage settlements (requirements). One, he had to dammed Citarum river, and two, had to make a boat in one night.

Sang Kuriang almost finished his work but Dayang Sumbi cheated him. He was angry and kicked the boat. The boat fell upside down on the peak of mountain. It was known as mount Tangkuban Perahu, at the northern of Bandung, West Java.Questions1. The Legend of Jaka TarubJaka Tarub was the hero of a legend that was very popular among the people of Central Java.

Although he was only the son of a simple farmer, he was handsome as well as kind, honest and brave. He

A narrative text has tree elements or parts: the orientation, complication and resolution. The orientation introduces main characters in a setting of place and time. The complication tells the problems of the story and how the main characters solve them. The resolution tells the ending of the story.

As he was thinking hard of a way to get acquitted with any one of them, he caught sight of their clothes, which were piled up under a tree on the bank of the lake. He decided to steal one of the garments. That was what he did and then he did.

After they had finished their bath, the girls walked ashore to fetch their garments. SNOW WHITE A long time ago, a child was born to a queen and king and she was called Snow White. When the

queen died, the king remarried. This new queen was wicked and hated Snow White: The queen gave orders that Snow White was to he treated as a servant.

When the Dwarfs came home they were surprised to find Snow White and after some arguments, they decided to let her stay. She promised to cook and look after them.

The queen discovered where Snow White was living and disguising herself as a witch. She took a poisoned apple and set out for the Dwarfs' cottage. She gave Snow White the poisoned apple. Snow White ate it and as soon as she bit into the apple, she sank into unconsciousness.

Thinking she was dead, the Dwarfs built a glass coffin and put her in it. For days she lay in the forest in her glass coffin. One day, the Prince who was riding through the forest looking for Snow White found her. He leaned over and kissed her. She opened her eyes and sat up with a smile. Everyone was happy. The Prince took Snow White to his palace where they were married and lived happily ever after.

Children often have far more senses than their elders. This simple truth was demonstrated rather dramatically during a civil defense exercise in a small town in Canada.

We are writing to you (because) we are concerned about the way food is being advertised to children.

What we eat now effects our health in years to come. Bad dietary habits start while we are very young. For this reason, your government supports health education that encourages a balanced healthy diet. Australians are encouraged to get the bulk of their nutrients from fresh fruits, vegetables, and wholegrain cereals, a lesser amount of foods high in fat, salt and sugar.

TV advertising to children presents a completely different message. Nearly 80% of food advertising pushes fatty snacks or sweets – the very foods that should be eaten least. To make matter worse, these ads take up much of the advertising time. This must be stopped.

TV advertising is powerful and influential. Parents, however strong-willed, find it hard to resist pressures created by this advertising. Children are least able to understand the tricks of the advertising industry.

For the hours when children are the main audience, TV advertising of food must be made to reinforce, not undermine, the message about a balanced diet. We appeal to you, as Prime Minister, to take the lead in calling together the advertiser, TV networks, consumers and public health bodies to decide how this is to be done.

Dayang Sumbi was exiled in the jungle, because she was unmarried but pregnant. She gave a birth to a baby boy and named him Sangkuriang. And she became a young and hard working boy. He was a good hunter, too.

One day he went hunting with his dog, Si Tumang. In bush he saw a pig, Wayungyang. He wanted to shoot Wayungyang but Si Tumang hindered him. He was angry at it and killed it and then took its heart home. He cooked it aa ate it with his mother. When he told that it was Tumang’s heart, she was very angry and hit Sangkuriang’s head with a spoon. And he ran away and left his mother to the east. He did not know himself and forgot his name. But Dayang Sumbi refused because she recognized that he was her son. He insisted to marry her and Dayang Sumbi asked him two marriage settlements. One, he had to dammed Citarum river and two he had to make a boat in one night.

Sangkuriang almost finished his work but Dayang Sumbi cheated him. He was angry and kicked the boat. The boat fell upside down on the peak of mountain. It was known as mount Tangkuban Perahu, at the northern of Bandung, West Java.
