Equation • A statement that two expressions are equal. It has an equal sign.

is separated by an operation sign.

Simplify• To combine like terms and perform operations until all terms have

been combined.

Order of Operations:• When more than one operation is present.• Remember: PEMDAS (Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally)

• Parenthesis• Exponents• Multiply• Divide• Add• Subtract

• Operations inside parenthesis are performed first.

• Then multiply and divide from left to right. • Then add and subtract from left to right.

Prime number

•Any number whose only factors are 1 and itself.
