THe MYOPIC PENNY FARTHING
Log Line:
A Penny Farthing goes on a journey to get to the bike shop
through a dangerous
construction site.
Premise:
Will the old Penny Farthing get to the Bike shop?
Step Outline:
Penny farthing strolls around the streets
Stops to see two signs opposite each other at the road
(To the audience) One sign reads KEEP OUT-Construction site
Ahead
Penny farthing squints and tries to make out that sign one says
only to appear blurred
Penny farthing sighs and looks at the other sign
(To both audience and Penny farthing) the other sign reads Bike
Shop- 1 mile
Penny farthing gets excited and enters the construction site
As penny farthing strolls along the site, he presses a
switch
Crane from above turns and hits a set of scaffolding frames with
the construction ball
Scaffolding falls in front of Penny farthing without knowing
whats going on and rolls down into aditch
A wooden board from the scaffold slides down and lays itself on
top of the ditch-full of frames and
forms a bridge for the penny farthing to cross
One scaffolding frame falls and hits a nearby ramp, launching a
banana from the other end
Banana goes up and hits another nearby ramp on a scaffold
The other end of the ramp lowers and hits another switch
Another crane lowers a large tube in front of the penny
farthing

Penny farthing enters and crosses it as a tunnel
Penny farthing exits the tube and ends up on one side of a
ramp
The crane holding the tube, its wires get snapped dropping the
tube in the process
Tube lands on one end of the ramp, launching the penny farthing
(who has already gone to the other
end of the ramp) into the sky
Penny farthing lands back at the entrance of the site
Dazed and a bit confused, Penny farthing goes forth to what he
thinks the bike shop is ahead of him
whilst not knowing that hes leaving the site entrance behind
him.

Script
Act 1:
Scene 1:
An old partially sighted penny Farthing strolls around the
neighbourhood. He cycles ahead and suddenly stops. The old
bike
looks up and sees two signs sitting opposite each other. One
sign
reads, Keep Out- Construction site aheadhowever the old bike
tries to readjust his vision but the sign appears blurry to him.
He
sighs and looks at the other sign. This one he can make out
the
words reading, Bike Shop- 1 Mile.
Feeling excited the fact that therell be others like him in
the
shop he happily strolls ahead into the construction site despite
its
danger sign.
Act 2:
Scene 2:
As the penny farthing happily strolls along the construction
site
not noticing the dangers around and above him. He runs over
a
switch, activating a crane which swings the construction ball
that
is hanging at the end of the line. The ball hits against
some
scaffolding frames that are above the bike, knocking them down
in
the process. Some of the frames fall in front of the old bike
which
rolls down into the small ditch, a large wooden board from
above
slides down on top of the scaffolding bars allowing the bike
to
happily cycle on top. As some frames are left slowly falling,
one
frame (set further in front of the penny farthing) tops over
and
lands on a plank of wood (which is balancing on a construction
drum)
launching a banana that is sitting on the other end. The
banana
becomes squashed as it hits another scaffolding frame, making
the
frame hit another switch. As the Penny farthing is cycling along
a
large construction tube is lowered down (by a crane), creating
a
bridge for the bike to cross. Once the penny farthing exits out
of
the tube, he ends up on a ramp. As the penny farthing reaches to
the
end of the ramp, the crane holding the tube snaps and again
launches
the old bike into the air.
Act 3:
Scene 3:
Spinning around in the air, the penny farthing finally lands
back on
his wheels again but looks dazed and confused. Looking around,
he
wonders what just happened. Still thinking that there is still
a
small distance to go to the bike shop, the penny farthing
happily
