Assessment Summary
Before starting the lesson, I will let the students watch a video about malnutrition. If time permits, I will invite a speaker that will talk about nutrition. After watching, I will ask some questions related to the video and get their opinions. While the discussion is in progress, I will let them create a poster as one of their outputs and let them create a weeklong journal about the foods they ate and gauge if students really used the learning they got from the discussions. After the lesson, I will give a chapter test to assess their understanding and have a cooking activity in which they will apply what they’ve learned.

Students must have basic understanding and background about good health and nutrition.
Instructional Procedures
Lesson will progress from Lesson 1 to 7. At the end of each lesson, there will be activities like creating a poster, food journal, and class and group discussions as well. At the end of the chapter, students will have a cooking activity and a chapter test.
Accommodations for Differentiated Instruction
Special Needs Students
Will group the students with special needs together with the gifted ones to aid them in their learning. Allocate some time after each lesson to address special student’s needs.

Gifted/Talented Students
Will provide homework to gifted students and allow them to discuss what they’ve learned in front of the class through reporting.
