Capable of generating approximately 5,000 megawatts of electricity and 1.4 million cubic meters of drinking water, Shuweihat is the world’s largest independent water and power production facility.
In addition to Shuweihat power plants, Siemens has also delivered a wide range of technology to integrated seawater desalination units in the Gulf region.

Julphar, (Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries), UAE
Established in 1980, Julphar is the first pharmaceutical producer in the Arab Gulf states and leading pharmaceutical producer in the region.
Through automation and digitalization, Siemens enabled Julphar to increase efficiency, reduce operation costs and reach new levels of productivity. Comprehensive process control solutions from Siemens helped Julphar (Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries) build a new plant, enabling the production of more than 40 million vials of insulin per year. Siemens solutions provide affordable, high quality medicine for millions of diabetes patients in the Middle East, improving the quality of their lives.

Siemens implemented the integration
of all the distribution substations on
the two islands and connection to the
Abu Dhabi distribution management
center. In addition, Siemens
technology powers the Yas Marina
Circuit’s Race Control Center and
associated systems such as the track
lighting.
Other infrastructure on and around
the islands powered by Siemens
technology includes traffic control
systems, which covers all the
intersections in Reem, Saadiyat and
Al Raha Beach areas.
