How do I do that? Learning how to book the PAC

June 2019 — LaVerne Ayudan Corpuz wrote us a review on our Facebook, “KCC Performing Arts Center has showcased […] events such as aho`ike, dance recitals, concerts, pageants; the ambience as well as acoustics and sound; the enjoyment is amazing! Catch one of many performances there, you will love it!”

LaVerne is right. We have a variety of events in the KCC PAC, and on a busy year we could have over 100 shows. You must be wondering how does this happen? Well folks, it happens with a lot of planning, a lot of lead-time, and a lot of communication.

We prepared an interactive slideshow to teach you the policies and procedures of booking theKCC Performing Arts Center. Click this link to check it out and learn about how you can bookthe PAC today. Or find us on Facebook, Instagram, or on the web.

Did you know or do you care, the KCC PAC policies and procedures haven’t changed since

2003? The fees haven’t been reviewed since August 2003 either. So you can imagine we have a lot of work to do! This is why we want to build an advisory board that will help usbring the KCC PAC into the new decade.

“...catch one of many performances there you will love it!”

The slideshow doesn’t explain everything, however. Besides our fixed rates per performance per day, our equipment and labor

fees are variable. We also have a different fee for rehearsals. Contact the PAC Manager and begin planning your event right now, and don’t wait for the last minute.

We also look forward to mixed-medium collaborations with professional artists. Thismeans that KCC PAC doesn’t only host plays and musicals. We also host the circus, film screenings, debates, conferences, recitals, pageants, and ho`ike.

2020: The team at Hawaii Youth Symphony presents their annual conference in the KCC Performing Arts Center.

What you can look forward to is an interdisciplinary mixed-medium collaboration between the Kauai Community College Media Arts, Music, and Fine Arts departments. For example, students from Professor Steve Watkins Event Technology course will be recording a live performance with Ebb & Flow Productions.

The Performing Arts Center also welcomes

We have had a wonderful time in the KCC Performing Arts Center with the KCC Cognitive Learning Group (COGS), where they welcomed over 300 middle school students to learn about S.T.E.M. related careers and hobbies thanks to Trineen Lopes Lacaden and her team.

Hi Tide Nation and Matthew Laundrie is also in the house, bringing comedians such as JP Sears, Ari Shaffir, and Piff the Magic Dragon. Global Media Productions presented Carlos Nakai and Band. ADR Productions presented Terry Fator. Lazar Bear Productions brought Judy Collins live in concert. Kauai Underground Artists presented Love Life Festival, Garden Island Arts Council presented John Wherheim’s Edge of Paradise, Kauai Concert Association presented several artists including the famous La Voix, Trio Con Brio, and more.

We also hosted hula halau groups such as Kumu Hinano’s and Kumu Kapu’s. Religious organizations such as One Way Ministries, King’s Chapel, and New Hope choose us for their events because they know they can depend on our state-of-the-art facility.

So you can imagine, it is a very busy venue, packed with a variety of events for your family and friends to enjoy.

Come see a show, promise you won’t regret it…
