I made this infographic for my environmental studies capstone in 2013 using Adobe Illustrator. Originally designed to be long and narrow for scrolling through on a smartphone or com-puter, it has been dissected in this portfolio into three sections.

This design is a re-imagining of a space on Lawrence University ’s campus in front of the Welcome Center that is currently patchy grass criss-crossed by cracked side-walks. Two other students and I redesigned the space as part of an independent study in landscape design, and presented the plans to the president of the univer-sity. The main goal of the project was to create an outdoor space that enhanced the appearance and functionality of the Welcome Center while main-taining a convenient flow for foot traffic. Hand drawn and edited in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

This is the second plan for the Lawrence University’s Welcome Center. It is called the “Council Ring.” This design uses circles to create an encomassing gathering space. The central feature of this design is a series of benches that together create the effect of a circle.

In 2011, Riverview Gar-dens bought 77 acres of a former golf course and began to build a community gardens program. Over half this area was designated as public park space. My role as Restoration Intern was to develop a plan to transition this space into native tallgrass prairie and savanna. I created this map using ArcGIS to delineate the types of prairie to be planted on the site. I also cre-ated plant species mixes for each com-munity type.
