Multi Purpose Building: InternshipThrough my internship with SMSQ Architects, I was in charge to design a multi purpose building for Northfield, MN. This building

contained a gallery space, a two story office space, private offices, and four different living quarters. The design was

presented to potential buyers and contractors and the design was used to brainstorm ideas on what the lot could be used for.

Common Study Space

For my architecture studio final we had to design a study area for our campus. The design I made included a gallery space, a lecture hall, a lounge, and a cozy upper loft with

various study spaces. The layout included a courtyard in the middle of the building that held a tree and benches. The whole thought process was to design a building that looked

impossible to build due to its gravity defying geometry, but is possible due to steel materials and opposing forces.

We Are Who We Are:For my Senior Show at St Olaf I decided to do my capstone on shoes. I have been

designing my own shoes since I was in the 7th grade. I used both canvas shoes to draw on and then used found shoes to make into sculpture by using found items in nature to

symbolize walking through nature.

A Little Piece of MeThis work was for my self portrait

assignment. I decided that this described me more than a image of myself. It graphs my works in architecture and why I have

chosen to take that career pathClass: Oil Painting

The TalkThis duo was my final in Oil Painting, which was an open ended assignment where we could paint anything that fit our life at that

moment. In that month, the brakes of my life screeched to a halt and these two pieces wrap up all the emotions and thoughts I was having

to a T. They however can be taken in many different ways, continuing the open endedness

of the assignment.

This series was a time for me to take my architectural drawings and make them into art in a different form than make ups of a design for a client. It

was to take the drawings in their simplest form and pair them with a washed out background that I find so appealing to create. They took two things that I continue to use in my pieces over and over and paired them

together to create a cohesive series.Class: N/ADate: 2013

Something and NothingThe foundation of this trio was to take nothing and make it into something. To make the viewer think about something that they walk past every single day. If that is a crumpled up piece of metal, a puddle, or worn

down pavement. Doing a piece like this makes the audience contemplate and appreciate their surroundings no matter how small.
