The method proposed and used byI. N. Frost, M.D., of Raymondville,Texas, for the treatment of cancer isbased on the theory that cancer and allother degenerative diseases are manifestations of a virus infection. An article in Prevention, May, 1961, statedthat Dr. Frost had described his treatment as beginning “¿witha complete reorganization of the diet to include onlyorganically grown food. Then speciallydeveloped vaccines are employed, a vaccine made from the patient's own fluids, and one made from the staphylococcusaureus. Along with these, certain antibiotics are used.― In addition to thistreatment he reported that he also usedKoch Antitoxins, Krebiozen, and Mucorhicin. Earlier he had been reportedto be using the Lincoln bacteriophageswhich were originally prepared fromcultures of Staphylococcus an i-ens.
In unsolicited letters to local, stateand federal officials, Dr. Frost hasstated that when he was a young doctor, his father “¿dieda horrible death following radiation for cancer.― He addsthat from his extensive experience hedoes not believe that a single case ofcancer has ever been cured by surgeryor radiation. In summing it up, hequotes statistics showing that in Willacy County, Texas, where he lives andpractices, nearly 200 persons who havedied of cancer in the last twelve years
have had surgery or radiation or both.He believes that “¿thosecases in whichcure was claimed were only apparentlyso because of faulty diagnosis on thepart of the surgeon, the pathologist orboth.― He claims that the only cancerpatients in the county who are notdead or dying are a “¿fewpatients thatI have accepted to try to save theirlives, by removing the cause and having them recover.―
According to the American MedicalAssociation Directory for 1960-61,Isaac Newton Frost was born in 1880,received an M.D. from Memphis Hospital Medical College in 1903, was licensed to practice medicine in Texas in1926, and is engaged in general practice. He is not a member of his localmedical society or the American Medical Association.
Information on the Koch Antitoxins,Krebiozen and Mucorhicin may befound in the bibliography at the end ofthis article.
After careful study of the literatureand other information available to it,the American Cancer Society has foundno evidence that treatment with theFrost method, employing special vaccines, a special diet, and Koch Antitoxins, Krebiozen and Mucorhicin, eithersingly or in combination, results in anyobjective benefit in the treatment ofcancer in human beings.
