The method proposed and used by I. N. Frost, M.D., of Raymondville, Texas, for the treatment of cancer is based on the theory that cancer and all other degenerative diseases are mani festations of a virus infection. An arti cle in Prevention, May, 1961, stated that Dr. Frost had described his treat ment as beginning â€oe¿with a complete re organization of the diet to include only organically grown food. Then specially developed vaccines are employed, a vac cine made from the patient's own fluids, and one made from the staphylococcus aureus. Along with these, certain anti biotics are used.― In addition to this treatment he reported that he also used Koch Antitoxins, Krebiozen, and Mu corhicin. Earlier he had been reported to be using the Lincoln bacteriophages which were originally prepared from cultures of Staphylococcus an i-ens. In unsolicited letters to local, state and federal officials, Dr. Frost has stated that when he was a young doctor, his father â€oe¿died a horrible death fol lowing radiation for cancer.― He adds that from his extensive experience he does not believe that a single case of cancer has ever been cured by surgery or radiation. In summing it up, he quotes statistics showing that in Will acy County, Texas, where he lives and practices, nearly 200 persons who have died of cancer in the last twelve years have had surgery or radiation or both. He believes that â€oe¿those cases in which cure was claimed were only apparently so because of faulty diagnosis on the part of the surgeon, the pathologist or both.― He claims that the only cancer patients in the county who are not dead or dying are a â€oe¿few patients that I have accepted to try to save their lives, by removing the cause and hav ing them recover.― According to the American Medical Association Directory for 1960-61, Isaac Newton Frost was born in 1880, received an M.D. from Memphis Hospi tal Medical College in 1903, was li censed to practice medicine in Texas in 1926, and is engaged in general prac tice. He is not a member of his local medical society or the American Medi cal Association. Information on the Koch Antitoxins, Krebiozen and Mucorhicin may be found in the bibliography at the end of this article. After careful study of the literature and other information available to it, the American Cancer Society has found no evidence that treatment with the Frost method, employing special vac cines, a special diet, and Koch Antitox ins, Krebiozen and Mucorhicin, either singly or in combination, results in any objective benefit in the treatment of cancer in human beings.
