AP/CP Requirement Changes
Shared Autopsy: 2 maximum
Eliminate “Primary Prosector”
Participate in all aspects of Autopsy
“appropriate to the case”
AP/CP Program Requirement Changes
Autopsy
• Recognize that many programs need to have forensic cases count toward the 50 required cases for the ABP
• Participation in all 7 aspects of the case will not be tightly adhered to – “participate in aspects appropriate to case”
• However, residents will be expected to preview slides on their cases prior to signout

Since 7/1/2006, only 994 residents have made at least one entry into the case log system (there are 2330 filled resident positions currently)
Only 50% of programs entered data when examined at the last RRC meeting
ACGME Approved PositionsAlmost no increase in AP/CP positions in the last three years• 2554 positions in 2003• 2568 in 2005• FILLED positions have increased from 2163 in 2001 to 2330 in 2005• NRMP March 2007 – 513 positions offered in the match, only 47 not
filled prior to “Scramble Day”
Selective Pathology Program approvals continue to rise and therefore, changes to the Selective Pathology PIF, particularly since many of these programs are for AP, in the works• 9 programs with 36 fellows in 2000• 13 programs with 45 fellows in 2003• 40 programs with 96 fellows in 2005 • 44 programs with 105 fellows in 2006
