requires that you:• Have a Doctor o Optometry (O.D.) degree rom a school or

college o optometry acceptable to the surgeon general.

• Have a current, ull and unrestricted license to practiceoptometry in the United States, U.S. territories or the Districto Columbia.

As an Army pharmacist, you are an important part o the ArmyHealth Care Team. You could serve in a variety o capacities,including ambulatory care and inpatient drug distributionsystems. You could also be involved in a wide range o clinicalpharmacy practice activities, such as nuclear or oncologypharmacy, drug-monitoring and patient education services andnutrition support.

Your opportunities could go beyond the clinical aspects opharmacy as well. For example, you could work at the Departmento De ense Pharmacoeconomic Center or at a regional medicalcommand as the pharmacy benefts manager. Some pharmacistsalso teach in the Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Yourassignment could be at an Army medical center, communityhospital, troop medical clinic or in a feld environment located inthe United States or overseas.

requires that you:• Be a graduate o a school o pharmacy acceptable to the

surgeon general.

• Be licensed to practice pharmacy in the United States.

As an Army podiatrist and member o the Army Health CareTeam, your main responsibility is to provide pro essional podiatricmedicine and surgical services to Soldiers. You will broadenyour experience through caring or amily members and militaryretirees.

Also, practicing podiatry as an o fcer in the Army MedicalService Corps allows you to apply or such schools as Air Assault,Airborne and Jungle Training, among others. There are alsoexcellent opportunities to participate in administration.

Army laboratory science o fcers are in our broad biomedicalcareer felds: biochemistry, clinical laboratory, microbiologyand research psychology. Academic training can be in medicaltechnology, biochemistry, physiology, chemistry, toxicology,clinical microbiology, parasitology, virology, immunology,molecular biology, research psychology or related biomedical andphysical science felds.

As a laboratory science o fcer in the Army, you will engagein active multi-disciplinary programs in medical research anddevelopment labs, medical centers, clinical labs, and blood banksand orensic toxicology labs in the United States and overseas.

The emphasis in medical research is on drugs and vaccines toprotect Soldiers against endemic diseases and chemical andbiological war are agents. You may also conduct research oncombat casualty care, combat stress, blood products and physicalper ormance in extreme environments. As an o fcer in the Army,you will develop the skills to lead, direct and manage researchand clinical laboratories and biomedical programs critical to the

Army’s mission.

• Biochemistry and microbiology career specialties requirea minimum o a master’s degree to ulfll clinical duties,although a doctoral degree is required to work in research anddevelopment, and be competitive or senior o fcer promotion.Graduate training programs are generally available on acompetitive basis.

Many entomologists serve in sta assignments, where theyprepare regulations, directives, standards and criteria. Othersare engaged in teaching preventive medicine personnel. Atmore senior levels, entomologists serve as consultants both inUnited States and overseas locations.

in either environmental, environmental science, civilengineering, industrial engineering, chemical engineering,sa ety engineering, environmental health engineering

and geological engineering. A bachelor’s degree will beconsidered when the overall curriculum in mathematics,basic science, engineering sciences and engineering designprovide an integrated education experience directedtoward the development o the ability to identi y and solvepractical problems in the designated area o engineeringspecialization. You must also be academically qualifed orgraduate education.
