Refer to the labels of all products in the mix for information regarding rates, timing, applicalion information, species controlled, use restrictions, sprayer cleanup use precautions, and other information. 1be most restrictive pro. visions apply.

Always conduct a jar test to evaluate physical compatibility before applying a particular insecticide mixture to crops.

APPLICATIONS WITH BROADLEAF HERBICIDES For best results, apply ASSURE n alone or in sequence with a broadleaf herbicide(s).

Antagonism Tank mixes of ASSURE II with postemergence broad leaf herbicides have shown, some reduction in control of most grass species and failure to control certain grass species normally controlled by ASSURE II used alone. Activity of the postemergence broadleaf herbicide in the tank mixture is not affected.

Split Applications with Postemergence Broadleat Herb/cldes Applying ASSURE II immediately prior to or following an application of a postemergence broadleafherbicide may reduce control of some grasses. For best results, follow these recommendations when making split applications:

• Apply postemergence broadleaf herbicides at Icast , 24 hours after applyiJIg ASSURE IL, ' • Apply ASSURE II wilen grass begins to develop new '. leaves <&eneiiJly 7 days .tier die poseeme.,m ~.oadIeaf

CULTIVATION Do not cultivate dl ring or within 7 days before or after applying ASSURE n as damage to Ihe p1ISS roocs may result in unsatisfaclol)' control.

ENVIRONMENT,~L CONDITIONS AND BIOLOGICA.L ACTIVITY A~SURE II i= ~ .iystemic herbicide that is rapidly absorbed by treated foliage and translocated 10 the roots and other growing points of the plant. When ~ffected, younger plant tissues become chlorotic/necrotic and evenruuly die, leaving treated pl:::-~ stunted and noncompetitive. In general, these symptoms are first observed within 7 10 14 days after application dependinl on Ihe crass species treated and the environmenUlI , .Jnditions.

The decree or control and durltion of the effect 01 ASSURE II depend "poll Ihe rate used, weed spectrum, weed siu IIId vlriability, powing conditions at and followinllrUlmtnt, soil moisture, precipiUltion, lank mixtures, and spny adjuvant used.

., 1

Conditions conducive tn healthy, actively powinl plants optimiu the performance or ASSURE II. Do not apply ASSURE II to grasses stressed from

• abnornW weather (hot ;:; cold),

• droupt, • water saturated soils, or • prior herbicide injury.

Grasses UDder these conditions are often 1ess sensitive to herbicide activity. Delay application until the stress passes and weeds and crop resume growth.

ASSURE II is rainfast I hour after application.

RESISTANCE Biotypes of johnsongrass and other grass species resistant to postemerJCRCe grass herbicides such as ASSURE II are known to exist Biotypes are naturally occurring individuals of a species identical in appearance but with slightly different ~enetic makeups.

If grass controi is unsatisfactory, several other factors that could negatively affect herbicide performance should be investigated in additi<-n to the selection fjJf resistant biotypes. These factors ;nclude unfavorable environmental conditions, application e! rors, applications to plants under stress, or uses not according to the product label (off-label rates, grass sizes, tank mixes, improper adjuvant type or rate, etc.).

If Ihe initial postemergent grass herbicide treatment is ineffective because of the presence of a resistant biotype, applications of herbicides with Ihe same mode of action (herbicides that affect Ihe plant i'l the same way) may not control the resistant biotypes <effectively. A balanced grass control program should lhen oe followed. Consult your Du Pont representative, Igric\>~mical dealer, extension specialist, or consultant for srJCCific recommendations.

CROP nOTATION Do not rotate to crops other than soybeans or conon within 120 days after application.

SPRAYORIFT 1lIE MINIMIZA nON OF PESTICIDE DRIfT IS 1lIE RESPONSIBll.1TY OF 1lIE APPLiCA TOR. Interactions between weather c.lIlditions and land configurations I"ay contribute to unpredictable drift partems of all crop proteclion produc:Is. Responsibility for planl injury caused by spray drift lies with the applicator. As an aid for applying any crop procectioo product. follow ihese pnc:tic:es to minintize spray drifL

Do not allow spray from either ground or aerial equiprnenllo drift onto neighboring crops or land. as even small antOUnts may inju~ susceptible plants. When spraying near adjacent sensitive crops or plants. do everything pos.<ible to ~uce spray drift including:

• Slop spraying if wind becomes excessive. 00 NOT SPRAY IF WIND SPEED IS 10 MPH OR GREATER. Spray drift can occur al wind speeds less than I 0 ~PH. If sensitive crops or plants are downwind. extreme caulion musl be used even in ~Ialively low wind conditions. 00 NOT SPRAY IF WINDS ARE GUSTY.

• High temperature. drought. and low relative humidity inc~ase the possibility of spray drift. EXTREME CAUTION MUST BE USED WHEN THESE CONDITIONS ARE PRESENT AND SENSITIVE CROPS ARE NEARBY. REGARDLESS OF WIND SPEED.

• Do not apply during a temperature inversion. An inversion is characl .. rized by low air movemenl and an increase in air lemperature; wilh an increase in altitude in humid regions. a fog or mist may form. An inversion may be detecled by producing a smoke column and checking for a layering effect. Smoke-producing devices on aircraft are recommended. If nOI sure whether an inversion exisls. consult with local weather services before making an application.

Drift from ground equipment may be further reduced by:

• Using coarse sprays to minimize drift. Do nol use nozzles that pruduce small droplets. such as spray-foil or airblasttype nozzles.

• Increasing the volume of spray mix per ac~ II j using higher flow rate nozzles.

• Reducing p~ssure (PSI).

• Applying as close 10 targel plants as possible while still maintaining a good spray paltern.

IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS Do not tank mix ASSURE U willi .ny pesticide or spray adjuv.nt excepllS directed on Ibis label or on other supplementIIlabels.

• Most grus crops, including wheal, barley, rye, oats, sorghum, rice, mid com Ire highly sensitive 10 ASSURE U. All direct or indirect contact (such IS spray drift) should be avoided.

Injury 10 or loss of desirable trees or vegetation may result from failure to observe the following:

• Do not apply ASSURE U or drain or flush equipment on or near desirable trees or other plants, on areas where their roots may extend, or in locations where the chemical may be washed or moved into contact willi their rOOlS.

• Do not use on lawns, walks, driveways. tennis courts, or similar areas.

• Prevent spray drift to desirable plants.

Do not contaminate any body of water.

Keep ASSURE II from coming in contact willi fertilizers, insecticides. fungicides. and seeds during storage.

Thoroughly clean all application equipment immediately after use and prior to spraying crops other lIIan soybeans orconon.

Do not apply lIIis productlllrough any type of irrigation system.

Do not graze ueated fields or harvest for forage or hay.
