Avoid high temperatures, moisture,water and dust– Do not expose the system, batteriesor discs to humidity, rain, sand orexcessive heat (caused by heatingequipment or direct sunlight). Alwayskeep the disc tray closed to avoid gettingdust on the lens.

Avoid condensation problem– The lens may cloud over when theplayer is suddenly moved from cold towarm surroundings, making it impossibleto play a disc. Leave the player in thewarm environment until the moistureevaporates.

Do not block the vents– Do not operate the DVD system in anenclosed cabinet and allow about 10 cm(4 inches) of free space all around theplayer for adequate ventilation.

Care of disc– To clean a CD, wipe itin a straight line from thecentre toward the edgeusing a soft, lint-freecloth. Do not usecleaning agents, as theymay damage the disc.– Write only on the printed side of aCD-R/CD-RW and only with a soft felt-tipped pen.– Handle the disc by its edge, do nottouch the surface.

Care of the cabinet– Use a soft cloth slightly moistenedwith a mild detergent solution. Do notuse a solution containing alcohol, spirits,ammonia or abrasives.

Finding a suitable location– Place the player on a flat, hard, stablesurface.

Step 1: Placing the speakersand subwoofer

For best possible surround sound, all thespeakers (except subwoofer) should beplaced at the same distance from thelistening position.

1 Place the front left and right speakers atequal distances from the TV and at anangle of approximately 45 degrees fromthe listening position.

2 Place the centre speaker above the TV orthe DVD system so that the centerchannel’s sound is localized.

3 Place the rear speakers at normallistening ear level facing each other orhang on the wall.

4 Place the subwoofer on the floor nearthe TV.

Helpful Hints:– To avoid magnetic interference, do notposition the front speakers too close toyour TV.– Allow adequate ventilation around theDVD system.

Helpful Hint:– Ensure that the speaker cables arecorrectly connected. Improper connectionsmay damage the system due to short-circuit.

IMPORTANT!– You only need to make one videoconnection from the followingoptions, depending on thecapabilities of your TV.– Connect the DVD system directlyto the TV.

Using Composite Video jack

1 Use the supplied composite video cable(yellow) to connect the DVD system’sVIDEO OUT jack to the video inputjack (or labelled as A/V In, Video In,CVBS, Composite or Baseband) on theTV.

2 To hear the TV channels through thisDVD system, use the supplied audiocables (white/red) to connect AUDIOIN-TV jacks to the correspondingAUDIO OUT jacks on the TV.

3 Set the P-SCAN switch to ‘OFF’.

IMPORTANT!The progressive scan video quality isonly possible when using Pr/Cr Pb/Cb Y,and a progressive scan TV is required.

Using Component Video jack(Pr/Cr Pb /Cb Y)

1 Use a component video cables (red/blue/green - not supplied) to connect theDVD system’s Pr/Cr Pb/Cb Y jacks tothe corresponding Component videoinput jacks (or labelled as Pr Pb Y orYUV) on the TV.

2 To hear the TV channels through thisDVD system, use the supplied audiocables (white/red) to connect AUDIOIN-TV jacks to the correspondingAUDIO OUT jacks on the TV.

3 If you are using a Progressive Scan TV(TV must indicate Progressive Scan orProScan capability ), set the P-SCANswitch to ‘ON’. Otherwise, set it to ‘OFF’.

Helpful Hint:– You have to power off the DVD system orswitch to standby mode before changing theP-SCAN switch setting.

IMPORTANT!If S-Video is used for DVD playback,the system’s VIDEO OUT setting willneed to be changed accordingly.Details are on page 23.

Using S-Video jack

1 Use an S-video cable (not supplied) toconnect the DVD system’s S-VIDEOOUT jack to the S-Video input jack(or labelled as Y/C or S-VHS) on the TV.

2 To hear the TV channels through thisDVD system, use the supplied audiocables (white/red) to connect AUDIOIN-TV) jacks to the correspondingAUDIO OUT jacks on the TV.

3 Set the P-SCAN switch to ‘OFF’.

IMPORTANT!If your TV only has a single Antenna Injack (labelled as 75 ohm or RF In),you will need an RF modulator inorder to view DVD playback on theTV. See your electronics retailer orcontact Magnavox for details on RFmodulator availability and operations.

Using an accessory RF modulator

1 Use the supplied composite video cable(yellow) to connect the DVD system’sVIDEO OUT jack to the video inputjack on the RF modulator.

2 Use an RF coaxial cable (not supplied) toconnect ANTENNA OUT or TO TV jackon the RF modulator to the ANTENNAIN jack on the TV.

3 Connect the Antenna or Cable TVservice signal to the ANTENNA IN orRF IN jack on the RF modulator. (It mayhave been connected to your TVpreviously. Disconnect it from the TV).

4 Set the P-SCAN switch to ‘OFF’.

Power Outlet

1 Connect the supplied MW loop antennato the MW jack. Place the MW loopantenna on a shelf or attach it to a standor wall.

2 Connect the supplied FM antenna to theFM (75Ω) jack. Extend the FM antennaand fix its ends to the wall.

For better FM stereo reception, connectan external FM antenna (not supplied).

Helpful Hints:– Adjust the position of the antennas foroptimal reception.– Position the antennas as far as possiblefrom your TV, VCR or other radiation sourceto prevent unwanted interference.

After everything is connectedproperly,

1 Set the VOLTAGE SELECTOR to thelocal power line voltage.

2 Plug in the AC power cord to the poweroutlet.Never make or change any connectionswith the power switched on.

Helpful Hint:– Refer to the type plate on the rear orbottom of the system for identification andsupply ratings.

VCR or Cable/Satellite Box

Viewing and listening to the playback

1 Connect the VCR or Cable/Satellite Boxto the TV as shown.

2 Connect the DVD system’s AUDIO IN-AUX jacks to the AUDIO OUT jacks onthe VCR or cable/satellite box.

Before starting operation, press AUX onthe remote to select “AUX” in order toactivate the input source.

Using the VCR for recording DVDplayback

3 Connect the DVD system’s VIDEO OUTjack to the VIDEO IN jack on the VCR.

4 Connect the DVD system’s LINE OUTjacks to the AUDIO IN jacks on the VCR.This will allow you to make analogue stereo(two channel, right and left) recordings.

To view DVD playback whilerecording, you must connect the DVDsystem to your TV using S-VIDEO (asshown above) or Component(Pr/Cr Pb/Cb Y) video connection.

Digital Recording

1 Connect the DVD system’s DIGITALOUT-COAXIAL jack to the DIGITALCOAXIAL IN jack on a digital recordingdevice (such as Dolby Digital decoder,CD recorder).

Before starting operation, set theDIGITAL OUTPUT according to theaudio connection. (See page 24 “Settingthe digital output”).

Helpful Hints:– Some DVDs are copy-protected. Youcannot record the disc through a VCR ordigital recording device.– Always refer to the owner’s manual of theother equipment for complete connectionand usage details.

Step 1: Inserting batteries intothe remote control

1 Open the battery compartment.

2 Insert two batteries type R06 or AA,following the indications (+-) insidethe compartment.

3 Close the cover.

Using the remote control tooperate the system

1 Aim the remote controldirectly at the remotesensor (iR) on the frontpanel.

2 Select the source youwish to control bypressing one of thesource select buttons onthe remote control (forexample TV/AV, TUNER.)

3 Then select the desiredfunction (for exampleÉÅ, S, T).

CAUTION!– Remove batteries if they areexhausted or if the remote is not tobe used for a long time.– Do not use old and new ordifferent types of batteries incombination.– Batteries contain chemicalsubstances, so they should bedisposed of properly.

Step 2: Setting the TV

IMPORTANT!Make sure you have completed allthe necessary connections. (See pages8–9 “Connecting TV”).

Selecting the colour system thatcorresponds to your TV

Step 3: Setting the speakers

You can adjust the delay time (centre andrear speakers only) and volume level forindividual speakers. These adjustments letyou optimise the sound according to yoursurroundings and setup.

Test Tone - Turning on/off

Press the respective buttons on theremote (REAR +-, CENTER +-and SUBW +-) to adjust the outputlevel between -15dB ~ 10dB.

Helpful Hint:– If you have selected Stereo mode,adjusting the center and rear speakers’volume level will have no effect.

Step 4: Setting languagepreferences

You can select your preferred languagesettings so that this DVD system willautomatically switch to the language for youwhenever you load a disc. If the languageselected is not available on the disc, thedisc’s default setting language will be usedinstead. Playing discs

Using the Disc MenuDepending on the disc, a menu mayappear on the TV screen once you load inthe disc.

To select a playback feature or item Use the 1 2 3 4 keys or numeric

keypad (0-9) on the remote, then pressOK to start playback.

To access the menu Press DISC MENU on the remote.

For VCDs with Playback Control(PBC) feature (version 2.0 only)

During playback, pressing DISC MENUwill return to the menu screen (if PBC ison). Use S / T to select a playoption and press OK to confirm or usethe numeric keypad (0-9).

Basic playback controls

Pausing playback Press ÉÅ.

To resume normal playback, pressÉÅ again.

Selecting another track/chapter Press S / T or use the numeric

keypad (0-9) to key in a track/chapternumber. If repeat mode is active, pressing S/ T will replay the same track/chapter.

Searching backward/forward Press and hold S / T, then pressÉÅ to resume normal playback. While searching, pressing and holding S / T again will increase thesearch speed.

Stopping playback Press Ç.

Resuming playback from the laststopped point (DVD/VCD/CD)

When play is stopped and the disc hasnot been ejected, press RESUME.

To cancel the resume mode When play is stopped, press Ç again.

Helpful Hints:– Open the disc tray or disconnect the DVDsystem from the power supply will cancel theresume option.– For VCD disc, pressing RESUME button willturn off the PBC mode and playback willstart from the beginning.

3 Press REPEAT A-B again to resumenormal playback.

Programme favourite tracks(audio CDs and VCDs)You can play the contents of the disc inthe order you want by programming theorder of the tracks to be played. Up to 99tracks can be stored.

1 Stop playback, then press PROG on thefront panel to enter programme mode.

2 Use the numeric keypad (0-9) to entera valid track number. "FULL" will appear if you haveprogrammed 99 tracks.

3 Press OK to store the track.

4 Repeat steps 2~3 to select othertracks.

5 Press ÉÅ to start programme playback.

6 Press Ç to stop playback or exitprogramme mode.

Clearing the programme

Stop playback, then press the Ç again. "PROG CLR" appears.

Helpful Hints:– If the DVD system is disconnected fromthe power supply, it will erase theprogramme.– For VCD, the programme option is onlypossible if the PBC mode is turned off.

Playing MP3/Picture disc(Kodak, JPEG)

1 Load an MP3/Picture (Kodak, JPEG) disc. The disc reading time may exceed30 seconds due to the complexity ofthe directory/ file configuration.

2 Playback will start automatically. The album/picture menu appears onthe TV screen. If not, press DISC MENUon the remote.

3 Use 1 2 3 4 keys to select a desiredalbum, then press OK to open the folder(for MP3 disc only). The title menu appears on the TVscreen.

4 Use 1 2 3 4 keys to select a desiredtitle, then press OK to start playback.

You can also use the numeric keypad(0-9) to enter your choice.

During playback, you can; Press S / T to select another title/

picture in the current folder.

Use 1 2 3 4 keys to rotate/ flip thepicture files.

Press ÉÅ to pause/resume playback.

5 To stop playback, press Ç.

Helpful Hints:– Due to the recording nature of Digital AudioMP3 (DAM), only digital audio music will play.– It is normal to experience an occasional“skip” while listening to your MP3 discs.– It may not be possible to play certain MP3or JPEG disc due to the configuration andcharacteristics of the disc or condition of therecording.– For multi-session discs with differentformats, only the first session will be available.

Using the menu barYou can continue a number of operationsdirectly via the multiple menu bars on theTV screen without interrupting the discplayback. The exception is when youenter (SETUP MENU), after which theplayback will pause.

ANGLE (for DVD only)Select to view the same scene from different anglesif the DVD is recorded with multiple angles.

STEP FORWARDSelect to advance the still picture one frameforward. To resume normal playback, press ÉÅ.

PBC ON/OFF (for VCD 2.0 with PBC feature)Select between PBC On and Off.'PBC OFF' - the playback will start automatically.

PROGRAM Stop playback, then select this to enter the program menu (see page 21 "Using the menu bar to programme").

Restricting playback by ParentalControl

Some DVDs may have a parental levelassigned to the complete disc or tocertain scenes on the disc. This featurelets you set a playback limitation level.The rating levels are from 1 to 8 and arecountry dependent. You can prohibit theplaying of certain discs that are notsuitable for your children or have certaindiscs played with alternative scenes.

1 In disc mode, press SYSTEM MENU. Use the 1 2 3 4 keys on the remoteto navigate in the menu.

You can change the four-digit passwordused for Parental Control. Enter yourfour-digit password to play a prohibiteddisc or if prompted for a password. Thedefault password is ‘1234.’

Tuner Operations

IMPORTANT!Make sure the FM and MWantennas are connected.

Tuning to radio stations

1 Press TUNER on the remote (or pressSOURCE control on front panel) toselect “FM” or “MW”.

2 Press and hold S / T on theremote until the frequency indicationstarts to change, then release. The next radio station will tuneautomatically.

3 To tune a weak station, press S / Tbriefly and repeatedly until an optimalreception is found.

Presetting radio stationsYou can store up to 40 preset radiostations in the memory, starting from FMand followed by MW bands.

Automatic presetting

You can store all available radio stationsautomatically.

In tuner mode, press and hold PROGuntil "AUTO PROG" appears. All the available radio stations withstrong transmission signal will be stored. Automatic preset will begin frompreset (1) and all your former presets willbe overridden. If it has reached 40 presets, “PROGFULL” appears. Once completed, “PROG END”appears.

Manual presetting

You can choose to store only yourfavourite radio stations.

1 Tune to your desired radio station (see“Tuning to a radio station”).

2 Press PROG. “PROGRAM” icon appears.

3 Use the numeric keypad (0-9) toselect a preset number. If “PROGRAM” icon goes off before youselect the desired preset number, pressPROG again.

4 Press PROG again to store.

5 Repeat steps 1~4 to store other radiostations.

Helpful Hints:– If you attempt to programme more than40 preset radio stations, “PROG FULL”appears.– The system will exit presetting mode if nobutton is pressed within five seconds.

Selecting a preset radiostation

Press 1 2 or use the numeric keypad(0-9) to select a preset number. The preset number, radio frequency,and waveband will appear.

Deleting a preset radio station

Press and hold Ç until “PXX CLR”appears. The current preset radio station willbe deleted.

Changing tuning grid(not available for all versions)

In some countries, the frequency stepbetween adjacent channels in the MWband is 9 kHz (10 kHz in some areas).The preset frequency step in the factoryis 9 kHz.

IMPORTANT!Changing the tuning grid will eraseall previously stored preset radiostations.

Press and hold down PLAY/PAUSE ÉÅbutton on front panel for more than fiveseconds. The display will show "GRID 9" or"GRID 10".

Helpful Hints:– GRID 9 and GRID 10 indicate that thetuning grid is in step of 9 kHz and 10 kHzrespectively.– The FM tuning grid also will be changedfrom 50 kHz to 100 kHz or vice versa.

Setting the Sleep TimerThe sleep timer enables the system toswitch to standby mode automatically at apreset time.

Press SLEEP repeatedly until it reachesthe desired preset turn-off time. The selections are as follows (time inminutes):

15 ™ 30 ™ 45 ™ 60 ™ 90 ™ 120™ OFF ™ 15 …

“SLEEP” icon will show on the display,except if "OFF" is selected.

To check or change the setting Press SLEEP once to show the

remaining time before switching off.If you continue pressing the SLEEPbutton, the next Sleep Timer option willappear.

To cancel the sleep timer Press SLEEP repeatedly until "OFF"

appears or press the STANDBY ONbutton.

Sound Control

IMPORTANT!For proper surround sound, makesure the speakers and subwoofer areconnected (see page 7).

Selecting surround sound

Press SURROUND to selectmultichannel surround or stereo mode. The availability of the various surroundsound modes depends on the number ofspeakers used and the sound available onthe disc. The centre and surround speakersoperate only in Multi-channel surroundmode. The available output modes for multi-channel include: Dolby Digital, Dolby ProLogic or Dolby Pro Logic II surroundsound. Stereo broadcasts or recordings willproduce some surround channel effectswhen played in a surround mode.However, mono (single channel sound)sources will not produce any sound fromthe rear speakers.

Selecting digital sound effects

Select a preset digital sound effects thatmatches your disc’s content or thatoptimises the sound of the musical styleyou are playing.

Press SOUND to select the availablesound effect.

When playing movie discs, you can select:CONCERT, DRAMA, ACTION or SCI-FI.

When playing music discs or while inTV/AV, TUNER or AUX mode, you canselect: ROCK, DIGITAL, CLASSIC orJAZZ.

Helpful Hint:– For flat sound output, select CONCERT orCLASSIC.

Volume control Adjust VOLUME control (or press

VOL +/-on the remote) to increaseor decrease the volume level. "VOL XX" appears. “XX” denotes thevolume level.

To listen through the headphones Connect the headphones plug to the

PHONES socket at the front of theDVD system. The speakers will be mute.

To turn off the volume temporarily Press MUTE.

Playback will continue without soundand "MUTE" appears. To restore the volume, press MUTEagain or increase the volume level.

Dimming system’s displayscreen

In any active mode, press DIM to selectdesired brightness : HIGH, MID or LOW.

Using the remote to operate‘Philips’ television

1 Press TV/AV.

2 Press S / T or use the numerickeypad (0-9) to select the TV’s channel.

3 Press TV VOL +/- to adjust the TV’svolume level.

4 Press B to turn off your TV.

Helpful Hint:– When listening to TV/AV or AUXprogrammes, press the respective TV/AV orAUX button on the remote in order for thesound to be heard.

WARNINGUnder no circumstances should you try to repair the system yourself, as thiswill invalidate the warranty. Do not open the system as there is a risk ofelectric shock.

If a fault occurs, first check the points listed below before taking the system forrepair. If you are unable to remedy a problem by following these hints, pleaseconsult your dealer or Magnavox for help.

– Check if the AC power cord is properlyconnected.

– Press the STANDBY ON on the front of theDVD system to turn on the power.

– Refer to your TV’s manual for correct Video Inchannel selection. Change the TV channel untilyou see the DVD screen.

– Press DISC on the remote.– Switch the P-SCAN at the back panel to “OFF”

position if you are not using a Progressive ScanTV.

– If this happens when you changing the settingof the ‘TV SYSTEM’, wait for 15 seconds forauto recovery.

– Check the video connection.– Sometimes a small amount of picture distortion

may appear. This is not a malfunction.– Clean the disc.

– The aspect ratio is fixed on the DVD disc.– Depending on the TV, it may not be possible to

change the aspect ratio.

– Adjust the volume.– Check the speaker connections and settings.– Disconnect the headphones.– Press the correct source button on the

remote (TV/AV or AUX, for example) tochoose the equipment that you want to hearthrough the DVD system.

– Disconnect the power cord from the poweroutlet for a few minutes. Reconnect thepower cord and try to operate again as usual.

– Press and hold SOURCE button on the frontpanel for more than two seconds, then pressPLAY button.

No power.

No picture.

Completely distorted picture orblack/white picture.

The aspect ratio of the screen cannotbe changed even though you have setthe TV display.

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution

– Insert a readable disc with the playback sidefacing down. The DVD+R/CD-R must befinalised.

– Check the disc type, colour system and regioncode.

– Check for any scratches or smudges on the disc.– Press SYSTEM SETUP to turn off the setup

menu screen.– You may need to enter the password in order

to change the parental control rating level orto unlock the disc for playback.

– Moisture has condensed inside the system.Remove the disc and leave the system turnedon for about an hour.

– The features may not be available on the DVD.– Changing the language for the sound or subtitle

is prohibited on the DVD.

– Press CENTER +- or REAR +- to adjustthe volume level.

– Make sure the centre and rear speakers areconnected correctly.

– Press SURROUND button to select a correctsurround sound setting.

– Make sure the source you are playing isrecorded or broadcast in surround sound(DPL II, Dolby Digital, etc.)

– If the signal is too weak, adjust the antenna orconnect an external antenna for better reception.

– Increase the distance between the system andyour TV or VCR.

– Tune in to the correct frequency.– Place the antenna farther away from any

equipment that may be causing the noise.

– Select the source (DISC or TUNER, forexample) before pressing the function button(ÉÅ, S, T).

– Reduce the distance between the remotecontrol and the system.

– Replace the batteries with new ones.– Point the remote control directly toward the

IR sensor.– Check that the batteries are loaded correctly.

Analogue: Sound that has not been turnedinto numbers. Analogue sound varies, whiledigital sound has specific numerical values.These jacks send audio through two channels,the left and right.

Aspect ratio: The ratio of vertical andhorizontal sizes of a displayed image. Thehorizontal vs. vertical ratio of conventional TVs.is 4:3, and that of wide-screens is 16:9.

AUDIO OUT Jacks: Red and white jacks onthe back of the DVD System that send audioto another system (TV, Stereo, etc.)

Bit Rate: The amount of data used to hold agiven length of music; measured in kilobits persecond, or kbps. Or, the speed at which yourecord. Generally, the higher the bit rate, orthe higher the recording speed, the better thesound quality. However, higher bit rates usemore space on a Disc.

Chapter: Sections of a picture or a musicpiece on a DVD that are smaller than titles.A title is composed of several chapters. Eachchapter is assigned a chapter number enablingyou to locate the chapter you want.

Component Video Out Jacks: Red, blue,and green jacks on the back of the DVDSystem that send high-quality video to a TVthat has Component Video In jacks (R/G/B,Y/Pb/Pr, YUV, etc.)

Disc menu: A screen display prepared forallowing selection of images, sounds, subtitles,multi-angles, etc recorded on a DVD.

Digital: Sound that has been converted intonumerical values. Digital sound is availablewhen you use the DIGITAL AUDIO OUTCOAXIAL or OPTICAL jacks. These jackssend audio through multiple channels, insteadof just two channels as analogue does.

Dolby Digital: A surround sound systemdeveloped by Dolby Laboratories containingup to six channels of digital audio (front leftand right, surround left and right, centre andsubwoofer).

Dolby Pro Logic II: It creates five full-bandwidth output channels from two-channelsources. Decode only systems that derive 5.1channels instead of the conventional fourchannels of Dolby Pro Logic surround sound.

JPEG: A very common digital still pictureformat. A still-picture data compression systemproposed by the Joint Photographic ExpertGroup, which features small decrease in imagequality in spite of its high compression ratio.

MP3: A file format with a sound datacompression system. “MP3” is the abbreviationof Motion Picture Experts Group 1 (orMPEG-1) Audio Layer 3. By using the MP3format. One CD-R or CD-RW can containabout 10 times more data then a regular CD.

Parental control: Limits Disc play accordingto the age of the users or the limitation level ineach country. The limitation varies from discto disc; when it is activated, playback will beprohibited if the software’s level is higher thanthe user-set level.

PCM (Pulse Code Modulation): A systemfor converting analog sound signal to digitalsignal for later processing, with no datacompression used in conversion.

Playback control (PBC): Refers to thesignal recorded on video CDs or SVCDs forcontrolling playback. By using menu screensrecorded on a Video CD or SVCD thatsupports PBC, you can enjoy interactiveplayback and searching.

Progressive Scan: It displays all thehorizontal lines of a picture at one time, as asingle frame. This system can convert theinterlaced video from DVD into progressiveformat when the DVD Player is connected to aProgressive Scan TV. It dramatically increasesthe vertical resolution and provides the bestpicture.

Region code: A system allowing discs to beplayed only in the region designated. This unitwill only play discs that have compatible regioncodes. You can find the region code of yourunit by looking on the product label. Somediscs are compatible with more than oneregion (or ALL regions).

S-Video: Produces a clear picture by sendingseparate signals for the luminance and thecolour. You can use S-Video only if your TV hasan S-Video In jack.

Sampling Frequency: Frequency ofsampling data when analog data is converted todigital data Sampling frequency numericallyrepresents how many time the originalanalogue signal is sampled per second.

Surround: A system for creating realisticthree-dimensional sound fields full of realismby arranging multiple speakers around thelistener.

Title: The longest section of a movie or musicfeature on DVD. Each title is assigned a titlenumber, enabling you to locate the title youwant.

VIDEO OUT jack: Yellow jack on the backof the DVD system that sends the DVDpicture video to a TV.

3 Press OPEN/CLOSE 0 on the front of theDVD system and load a disc, then pressOPEN/CLOSE 0 again to close the disc tray.Make sure the disc label is facing up. For double-sided discs,load the side you want to play face up.

4 Press ÉÅ to start playback.If a disc menu appears, use 3 4 1 2 buttons on the remoteto make the necessary selection, then press OK to confirm.Or, use the numeric keypad on the remote to select features.Follow the instructions given in the disc menu.

5 To stop playback, press STOPÇ.

Check the AV (Audio/Video)mode on your TV.

* Usually this channel is between thelowest and highest channels and maybe called FRONT, A/V IN, or VIDEO.

* Or, you may go to channel 1 on yourTV, then press the Channel downbutton repeatedly until you see theVideo In channel.

* Or, your TV remote control mayhave a button or switch that choosesdifferent video modes.

* Do not use channel 3 or 4 on the TVunless you are using an RF modulator.

Reproducción de un discoAsegúrese de que su sistema de DVD y su televisor estén conectados y

encendidos!

1 Pulse DISC en el control remoto.También puede pulse SOURCE en el panel delantero hasta que en el panel de visualizaciónaparezca “DISC”.

2 Encienda el televisor y seleccione el modo de entrada de video correcto.Debería ver la pantalla de fondo azul de DVD (si no hay disco en el sistema DVD).

3 Pulse OPEN/CLOSE 0 en la parte delantera del sistema DVD y coloqueun disco, y vuelva pulsar el botón OPEN/CLOSE 0 correspondiente paracerrar la bandeja de discos.Asegúrese de que la etiqueta del disco esté cara arriba. En el caso de discos de dos caras,coloque el disco con la cara que quiere reproducir hacia arriba.

El modulador de RF convierte el vídeodel sistema DVD de forma que puedareproducirse a través del conector deantena del televisor. Para una conexióncorrecta, consulte su manual delpropietario (Consulte la página 41).

No ponga P-SCAN a la posición ‘ON’, a menos que haya conectado elsistema DVD a un televisor de exploración progresiva utilizando los conectoresde vídeo Componente (Pr/Cr Pb/Cb Y).

Cuando escuche programas de televisión, pulse el botón TV/AV en el controlremoto para ajustar el sistema DVD al modo de TV/AV para que se oiga el sonido.

Reprodução de um disco

Certifique-se de que o sistema de DVD e TV estejam conectados e ligados!

1 Pressione DISC (DISCO) no controle remoto.Também é possível pressionar o botão SOURCE (FONTE) do painel frontal até aparecer “DISC”no painel do visor.

2 Ligue a TV e selecione o modo Video In correto.Deverá aparecer na TV a tela de fundo azul do DVD (se não houver nenhum disco no sistema deDVD).

3 Pressione OPEN/CLOSE 0 (ABRIR/FECHAR) na parte frontal dosistema de DVD e coloque um disco. Depois pressione OPEN/CLOSE 0novamente para fechar a bandeja do disco.Certifique-se de que a etiqueta do disco esteja voltada para cima. Nos casos de discos de duplaface, coloque o lado que deseja reproduzir voltado para cima.

4 Pressione ÉÅ para iniciar a reprodução.Se aparecer um menu do disco, use os botões 3 4 1 2 do controle remoto para fazer a seleçãonecessária. Depois pressione OK para confirmar. Também é possível usar o teclado numérico docontrole remoto para selecionar recursos. Siga as instruções fornecidas no menu do disco.

5 Para parar a reprodução, pressione STOP Ç.

Não mude a chave P-SCAN para a posição ‘ON’, a não ser que tenhaconectado o sistema de DVD a uma TV com recurso Progressive Scan usando astomadas de Video Component (Pr/Cr Pb/Pb Y).
