User Guide for Octopus Wi-Fi Printing Service

Please follow the steps below to install the printer driver and configure your own

notebook:

1. Download the Wi-Fi printing driver

2. Double click the driver (exe file) and click “Yes” button

3. Select the corresponding Windows OS (32-bit or 64-bit)

4. If not sure, go to Windows’ Control Panel > System

5. Locate the “System Type” (e.g. 32-bit Operating System)

6. It will create the folder for the printer driver under C: temp/CUHK

7. (optional) Some users reported that the following box prompt out during the

installation.

If this happen, please run the following command at the DOS prompt.

cscript //h:cscript //s

For Windows 8 / 10 users, you may need to follow the procedure below to type

in the command:

Search cmd from the Apps screen

Right click the Command Prompt and select “Run as Administrator”

Select Yes from the prompt

Enter the following command at the Command Prompt:

cscript //h:cscript //s

8. Connect to CUHK Wi-Fi (SSID: CUHK, CUHKa, CUguest, eduroam, Universities

WiFi) and select the corresponding “Wi-Fi Printing / Copier” driver for your

location

9. You may check the Printing Preferences if needed and click “OK”

10. Enter a “User ID” and “Password” that you like and click “OK”

Notes:

Both User ID and Password can be set by the user.

User ID can only made of a maximum of 8 alphanumeric characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9).

Password can only be made of 4-8 digit numbers (0-9).
