Getting to Know Your Device Server

1.1 About the IUSB-9041 USB Server

As far as we know, we can easily share a printer over a network. But

why can't we share all the rest of your USB devices just as easily?

IUSB-9041 is a revolutionary solution from Oring. You can easily

access any USB device connected to IUSB-9041 from your computer

via a LAN or the Internet as if it was physically plugged into your own

PC USB. The USB server supports wide variety of USB devices and can connect 4 USB2.0 devices at the same time.

User can conveniently manage IUSB-9041 by USBIP Admin or web via LAN interface. It is

easy for you to install and configure USB server over the network by USBIP Admin.

Allows working with remote USB device as with local ones.

Compatible with bulk, interrupt and isochronous type USB devices.

Supports printing to USB printer from Wired Interface.

Hardware Installation

2.1 Installing IUSB-9041 on DIN-Rail Each IUSB-9041 has a DIN-Rail kit on rear panel. The DIN-Rail kit helps IUSB-9041 switch to

fix on the DIN-Rail. It is easy to install the IUSB-9041 on the DIN-Rail:

2.1.1 Mount IUSB-9041 on DIN-Rail Step 1: Slant the IUSB-9041 and mount the metal spring to DIN-Rail.

Step 2: Push the IUSB-9041 toward the DIN-Rail until you heard a “click” sound.

2.2 Wall Mounting Installation Each IUSB-9041 has another installation method for users to fix the IUSB-9041. A wall mount

panel can be found in the package. The following steps show how to mount the IUSB-9041

on the wall.

2.2.1 Mount IUSB-9041 on the wall

Step 1: Remove DIN-Rail kit.

Step 2: Use 6 screws that can be found in the package to combine the wall mount panel. Just like

the picture shows below:

The screws specification shows in the following two pictures. In order to prevent

IUSB-9041 from any damage, the screws should not larger than the size that used in

IUSB-9041.

Hardware Overview

3.1 Front Panel

1. Ready LED. Blinking when device is booting, and light on when device is ready to use.

2. LED for PWR1, PWR2 & PWR3. When the PWR is linked, the green led will be light on.

3. LED for USB. When USB device is connected, the green led will be light on.

4. LED for Ethernet ports status.

5. Reset Button. Press for 5 seconds for factory default.

6. LED for fault indicator. When fault occurred, this red LED will be light on.

7. USB port for USB device to connect.

3.2 Bottom panel

The bottom panel components of IUSB-9041 are shown as below:

1. Terminal block includes: PWR1 (12~48V DC).

2. Relay output (1A@24VDC).

3. Terminal block includes: PWR2 (12~48V DC).

4. Power Jack include: PWR2 (12 ~ 48V DC).

5. Frame ground.

Cables

4.1 Ethernet Cables

The IUSB-9041 has standard Ethernet ports. According to the link type, the IUSB-9041 use

CAT 3, 4, 5,5e UTP cables to connect to any other network device (PCs, servers, switches,

routers, or hubs). Please refer to the following table for cable specifications.

100BASE-TX/10BASE-T Pin Assignments

With 100BASE-TX/10BASE-T cable, pins 1 and 2 are used for transmitting data, and pins 3

and 6 are used for receiving data.

The IUSB-9041 supports auto MDI/MDI-X operation. You can use a straight- through cable to

connect PC to IUSB-9041 The following table below shows the 10BASE-T/ 100BASE-TX

MDI and MDI-X port pin outs.

Management Interface

5.1 USBIP Admin

USBIP Admin is a powerful Windows utility for USB server. It supports server discovery, server

configuration and Device Mapping .it is easy for you to install and configure server over the

network.

5.1.1 Install USBIP Admin

Please run the setup program, Follow the instructions on screen to install the USB-Tool.exe.

After finishing Installing, Running USB-Tool.exe, it will be shown as below.

5.1.2 Using USBIP Admin

5.1.2.1 Mount USB Device

In this section, you will learn how to use your USB devices via the USB Server.

Step 1 - Connecting Your USB Device to the USB Server

Before using USB Server, connect your USB device to any of the USB port on the

USB Server.

Step 2 Mount your USB device to the USB server.

Right-click the USB device, choose “connect”, the USB device will be mounted to the

local PC, then you can access this device freely as if it was physically plugged into

your own PC USB

Note: Any device is to be disconnected or unplugged only after proper closure of related Applications.

5.1.2.2 Search the IUSB-9041

Step 1 Search servers over Network. You can scan all server or scan specify server.

The list will show all the USB server devices over the Network. (Default IP:

192.168.10.2)

It also allow user to search the device by enter the MAC of the

IUSB-9041.After the tool get the device, go to the next step to set the IP of

IUSB-9041.

Step 3 After the device is set & updated, it will be added into the list.

5.1.2.3 Device Mapping

To start mapping/unmapping the device on IUSB-9041, please go to “Device

Mapping” and click on the “Start Mapping device” or “Stop Mapping Device”

5.1.2.4 Printer Auto-Connect

USBIP Admin Utility enables Printers be shared between multiple clients making it a

bidirectional Print Server.

In order to share the printer between multiple clients, user may need to connect the

printer at least once to install the driver for the Printer.

Once the printer is enumerated, disconnect the Printer form the Device Mapping

Window; Select the Printer Auto Connect button on the menu bar to open

the Printer Auto-Connect Window. This can also be done from “Device Mapping”

window.

5.1.3 Server Manager

You can conveniently Manage USB server, Include search server, Upgrade

Firmware, USB server configuration, Load default and so on.

5.1.3.2 Manage USB server

Upgrade Firmware

Click “Browse” and Choose the firmware path, then click “Transfer”, it will take

about 5 minutes to upgrade Firmware

Important Note: It will take about 6 to 7 minutes to upgrade the Firmware. Please don’t

power-off the Power or remove the network cable during the Firmware Upgrade. The USB server

will auto reboot after the firmware grade is completed.

Basic setting

You can set any name that you like for USB server. USB server Default Name is

“IUSB-9041”.

IP setting

You must assign a valid IP address for USB Server before attached in your network

environment. you can configure the Static IP manually or set DHCP mode to

automatically obtain an IP address from DHCP server. The Factory Default IP

address is “192.168.10.2”

Password

You can set the password to prevent unauthorized access from your server.

Factory default is “admin”

Restore Factory Default

Right- click on the USB Server in the list and select the” Restore Factory

Defaults” function to Restore all the USB server configuration to Default

settings.

5.2 Configuration by Web Browser

Users can easily manage USB Server by Sever WEB Page. The web interface has a home

page and four configuration pages, include Home page, Network Page, Status Page, Upgrade

Firmware Page and LOG Page.

5.2.1 CONNECT TO THE WEB PAGE

Input the IP address of USB server with “https://192.168.10.2” in the URL of the browser,

then home page will be shown as below. The home page main displays the current network

settings, Server name, Firmware version and the USB server Feature.

5.2.2 DATE / TIME

Date and Time can be set from this page. By enabling the NTP allow the device to get the date / time from NTP server when the IUSB-9041 started up.

5.2.3 NETWORK SETTING

You must assign a valid IP address for USB Server before attached in your network

environment. You can configure the Static IP manually or set DHCP mode to

automatically obtain an IP address from DHCP server. The Factory Default IP

address is “192.168.10.2”

5.2.4 STATUS

The status page displays the current status of the USB devices attached.

The Device Status table shows the Vendor Id, Product Id, Product Name, and

Manufacturer name, USB Speed, client IP, client PC name, Duration.

5.2.5 UPGRADE FIRMWARE

You can upgrade Firmware by http ,click “Browse” and Choose the firmware path,

then click ”Http Upgrade” .

Important Note: It will take about 6 to 7 minutes to upgrade the Firmware. Please don’t power-off

the Power or remove the network cable during the Firmware Upgrade. The USB server will auto reboot

after the firmware grade is completed.

5.2.6 NOTIFICATION

Specify the events that should be notified to the administrator. The events can be

alarmed by E-mail, system log or LED / Relay.

5.2.7 LOG PAGE

This Page will show the Event Log Information in detail after Event Happen.

The Log table shows the time, Event, USB device, client IP, client PC, Name.
