William currently lives in Jefferson County with fiancé Karen Fanning. He has one sonand 3 grandchildren. William is the owner of a snack vending company and cleaning com-pany. He is an assistant football coach at West Middle, a KFOA football official, NFHS USDLacrosse official. William also is a retired professional track runner, a retired professionalwrestling manager, a certified wellness coach and a certified scuba diver. He still holds theKentucky long jump record with a jump of 24 ft 1inch.

Appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated in December of 1968
Two Sport Athlete in basketball and baseball
Member of the 1966 KHSAA Baseball State Championship Runner-Up team
Played for the University of Kentucky from 1966-1971
Drafted in the NBA by Chicago in 1970
Was an alternate on the 1972 Olympic Basketball Team
Inducted into the Dawahare’s/KHSAA Hall of Fame in 1991
Inducted into the Kentucky Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009
Inducted into the University of Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010
Shelby County High School named the gymnasium the “Mike Casey Gymnasium” in 2010
Inducted into the Kentucky Basketball Coaches’ Association Hall of Fame in 2013
Mike Casey passed away in April 2009 after a prolonged battle with heart disease. Casey retiredafter nearly two decades with Balfour. He left behind a loving family and a community saddenedby his loss.

Led Lady Rocket basketball team to the state tournament in 1999 and

Attended Cumberland College on a track scholarship and played basketball
as well during her collegiate career.
Lenita, daughter of Shirley White, currently lives in Bismarck, ND. She is married to Martins
Bello and they have one daughter, Lendora Bello. Lenita works for the Abused Adult Re-
source Center as an Employment/Education advocate. She has her MHA/Ed from Phoenix
University.

Coach Charlotte Chowning currently works for NTTDATA, Inc. She remains interested in
expanding student learning through the tools and resources of technologies. She also
breeds and shows American Miniature Horses and Shetland Ponies. Ms. Chowning enjoys
woodworking as a hobby, but especially enjoys having fun with her grandson.

1987 Kentucky Baseball’s Gatorade Player of the Year
Played in the Kentucky High School Baseball All Star Game in 1987
Was drafted by the Oakland A’s franchise in 1987 in the first round as the 11th pick
Broke into the big leagues in 1993 at age 24 with the Seattle Mariners
Played professional baseball for 14 seasons
Began coaching at the professional level in 2001
Lee lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife Susan. He has three kids (Kobie, Ethan and
Nia). He is currently the hitting coach for the Cincinnati Reds. Lee is the son of Annie
and Lee Tinsley Sr.

Currently Tom is a member of Shelbyville Centenary United Methodist Church and
is married to Brenda Creamer. They have three children (Chellie, Holly, and Margo).
They also have eight grandchildren.

Since retiring from SCHS in 2008, Hubie divides his time between grandchildren and serv-
ing his community. He and Libby have been married for 44 years, and have two daughters
who are both SCHS graduates, Betsy (class of 1993) and Sally (class of 1997). Betsy and
Roberto live in NC with their children, Ryan (8) and Hanna (6). Sally and Alan live in
Shelby County with Lawson (8) and Callaway (5), where she carries on the teaching tradi-
tion at Painted Stone Elementary. He is the son of Ray and Irene Pollett. Hubie has been
serving Shelby County as a magistrate for the past twelve years. He is currently president
of the Kentucky Association of Counties and the Kentucky Magistrates Association. Among
his many local services, he has been serving as Shelby County's parks board chairman for
over 15 years.

All Time Leading Score for men’s & women’s basketball with 2783 points
Led the Lady Rockets to the State Tournament in 1993

1st Team All-State in 1992 and 1993 in basketball
Went to EKU on basketball scholarship and was OVC Freshman of the year in 1993
Transferred to Conners State College in Oklahoma her sophomore year
Ran track for 5 years at SCHS
Region Champ in 100-meter run as a 7th grader
KHSAA 3rd place finish in state in the 200 meter run in 1991 and 1992
Currently Kim resides in Shelby County with her daughter Malaya. Malaya is a senior at
Collins where she plays goalie for the soccer team. Kim works at Kaeser Compressors as
a sales rep. She is the daughter of Charles and Dorethea Richmond. Her parents never
missed one basketball game or track meet while Kim was in high school.

daughter (Megan) and one son (Matthew) and a step son (Isiah). Charles served in the US
Army for 21 years from 1989 to 2010. He has been an assistant coach for the Shelby
County Rockets basketball team for the past 3 years.

Coach Bill Harrell had two children (Peggy and Erika) and 3 grandchildren (Christopher,Ethan and Sophia). After retirement he continued his legacy with basketball by hostingtryouts for unsigned young men without a scholarship. Many more of these were able toattend college and play basketball as a result. Coach also sold hail insurance after retire-ment to all tobacco farmers in Shelby Co. This continued his legacy of “giving them ‘hail’”.Bill passed away in July of 2004 at 76 years of age.
