• Ultimately, the primary channel circuit is the most important flow in the body


• Health is maintained when there is a continuous flow of qi through the channel circuit, and when the overall quality of qi is good

• Primary channels are responsible for circulation of qi, blood, ying and wei.

• 5-10 light strokes of burning incense on jing-well points until patient reports heat sensation

• Number is counted, recorded, and compared

KOBEI AKABANE (1940’S-1950’S)



• Influenced by Akabane’s incense diagnosis • Discovered that acupuncture points had lowered electrical

resistance when measured • Named these points Ryodoraku, meaning “electro-

conductive points” • Developed Ryodoraku electro-meridian diagnosis, 1950 • Predecessor to AcuGraph
