DRAYAGE USER GUIDE

PURPOSE

The Vanguard Logistics Drayage user guide is intended to provide a brief overview to users to the VLS drayage product

in the process of obtaining container drayage rates to and from any port/ramp/cfs within the continental United States.

ACCESS

The VLS drayage product is accessed through our ocean quote system, Ratemate. Upon logging into Ratemate the user

will see the below screen to enter their user name and password.

Subsequent to logging in you will immediately have access to the system and the ability to obtain a drayage quote.

REQUEST QUOTE

To request a container drayage quote, please follow the following steps:

Step 1: “Enter a U.S. Zip Code or alternatively enter the City name and State” into the “Cargo Load/Unload” field.

Step 2: (Cargo Load Unload) Click “Search”

You will then receive 5, NON-HAZARDOUS, NOT OVERWEIGHT, rates to the nearest Port/Ramp/CY.

Step 3: Click on the Port/Ramp/CY hyper link to see the terminals located within the Port/Ramp/CY.

Step 4: Click on the “Quote Dollar” amount to see the breakdown of the rate (Base + FSC)

Step 5: It is most important that you click on the quote No. to see the expiration date of the “base” rate, (Validity

Date of the Quote).

QUOTE PRINT

Step 1: To the right of the quote number you will see a check box located below the print icon. Select/tick the print icon

box for the quote you would like to print.

Step 2: After selecting the quote number you would like to print, then click on the print queue to print the selected

quote.

ADVANCED QUOTE

Step 1: Enter the Zip Code or City and State of your inland location next to Cargo Load; then click on the closest

port/ramp/cy hyper link.

Step 2: After clicking on the hyper link you will then see a drop down box of the 15 closest Ports/Ramps/CY’s to your

Inland location. Select the applicable port/ramp/cy; and the system will auto populate in the Empty Pick-Up Loaded

Return location.

Step 3: Click “Search”, you will then receive your rate(s).

Rates:

Philadelphia is selected and then auto fills Port/Ramp/CY

Step 4: Click on the “Quote Amount” to see the breakdown of the sell rate (Base + FSC)

Step 5: Click on the hyperlink under the empty Pickup or Port/Ramp/CY to view terminals within the Port or ramp area.

Step 6: It is most important that you click on the quote No. to see the expiration date of the “base” rate, (Validity

Date of the Quote).

QUOTE PRINT

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

To view the Vanguard Terms and Conditions for the inland drayage movement, Click on the “Terms and Conditions”

tab. The Terms and Conditions will display.

The display of Vanguard Logistics Services Terms and Conditions will provide you the information on a variety of Items

that might also apply to your drayage quote. These items include, but are not limited to, applicable chassis surcharge

rental, port congestion fee(s), amount of allowed free time, etc.
