Welkam becomes VTO’s official guide VTO is pleased to announce that they have adopted Welkam as VTO’s official guide to help promote Vanuatu with a special supplement in every issue, to visitors before they arrive in the country. To achieve this, the magazine will go as an eBook to Europe, USA, China, Korea, Japan, Australia, New Caledonia and NZ, thus increasing distribution enormously. Hard copies will continue in the usual way, complimented with online. View current issue on www.ebooksnzonline.com/welkam/ The VTO also encourages industry members to take advantage of the advertising opportunity in Welkam, printed on quality glossy magazine, and further enhanced by the destination brand look and feel. An Amazing Opportunity for All Junior Vanuatu Chef Association Members
By Vanuatu Chefs and Food Handler’s Association: Dear Chefs, this is a friendly second reminder of the amazing opportunity to compete in a competition in Seoul - Korea. If you are interested in applying to be involved - You must attend a compulsory meeting at Chantilly’s on the Bay conference room on Tuesday 23rd April at 10am. You must bring you birth certificate to this meeting - you do not need to provide passport at this stage. This will be general information meeting to explain how the selection process will work. New bikes for Vanuatu Ecotours Above: Pascal Guillet proudly poses alongside the new bikes. Vanuatu Ecotours recently launched brand new Italian mountain bikes for tours and also hiring. According to the company director Mr Pascal Guillet, “The roads here need an operational bike to make tours that much more enjoyable and memorable, we have these and now more”. In February this year, flown in from Italy and straight into the famous house truck of Van Ecotours, new ‘Lombardo’ mountain bikes came in different sizes to suit all cyclists, young and old, male and female. These bikes have received great feedback from Pascal’s guests on comfort and easy usability. Vanuatu Ecotours has 40 biking tracks that accommodate all levels of experience and fitness through jungle, meandering rivers, hills for breath taking views, beaches, plus other interesting landscapes. Monday lunches with APTC and VIT By Marc Warin, APTC: Hello Everyone, APTC and HTLTC at VIT will be working together to provide lunch service on Mondays from the 15th of April to the 10th of June, 2013. The cookery students from HTLTC will be working in the back of house while the Certificate III students from APTC while provide front of house service. The menu will change every two weeks. Travel to Vanuatu - Amateur Traveler Episode 366 Vanuatu was featured in the latest episode of the Amateur Traveler podcast. This roughly half hour audio show will typically expose the area to 10,000-20,000 travelers over the course of the next year or so. The Amateur Traveler had over 3 million downloads of travel podcast episodes over the last 3 years. Give the show a listen here. The Amateur Traveler talks to Chris Willis shares about a recent trip to Vanuatu, Tanna Island. This will greatly promote the islands via the show which has been awarded 2012 Gold Medal, 2013 Silver Medal in broadcasting from the North American Travel Journalism Association, The Chicago Sun Times included the Amateur Traveler in their list of 10 “Best travel sites”. Evergreen island hops to Pentecost, Tanna and Santo Evergreen Tours have been getting busy out & about throughout the islands. This week, the VTO received the first set of photos of staff accompanying 120 passenger guests of the european cruiseline Clipper Odessy to watch the marvelous land diving on Pentecost island. More news and photos from the trips made to Santo and Tanna in upcoming issues. The VTO congratulates & acknowledges Management of Evergreen Tours on the great efforts promoting cruises and cultural experiences of Vanuatu’s outer islands.
