have any sins to confess? - He was sinless 2 Cor 5:21; 1 Pet 2:22 1
John 3:5; John 14:3; Isa 53:12 At Johns baptism, Jesus is declaring
publicly His identity with the sinner. This is His formal opening
for His ministry: - The Father, through the voice; - The Holy
Spirit, descending dove-like; - The Son being baptized.

Jesus Is Tempted The word tempt has a twofold meaning: 1.
"Incite or entice to evil; seduce." There is something in each of
us which causes us to yield to evil. This was not true of Jesus.
"...the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me" (John
14:30). He was "...holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from
sinners..." (Heb. 7:26). So the temptation for Jesus had to be
different from that which would cause man to fall, in that it
needed to be a much greater temptation. 2. "Test." God does not
tempt men with evil according to James 1:13. Yet, we are told
"...God did tempt Abraham..." (Gen. 22:1). This means that God was
testing the faith of Abraham.
Slide 17
Jesus Is Tempted John 14:30 (KJV) 30 Hereafter I will not talk
much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath
nothing in me. Hebrews 7:26-27 (KJV) 26 For such an high priest
became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners,
and made higher than the heavens; 27 Who needeth not daily, as
those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins,
and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up
himself.

Jesus Is Tempted James 1:13 (KJV) 13 Let no man say when he is
tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil,
neither tempteth he any man: Genesis 22:1 (KJV) 1 And it came to
pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto
him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

God.

the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy
foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again,
Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

thou serve.
