Deep Attack: With this card, you can have one of your ships “slip behind enemy lines” and attack an enemy ship in the “main body” as if it were in the “screen,” i.e., you can use short-range weapons and other short-range attacks. (Several players sug- gested similar cards, none of them exactly like this one.) Cloaked Decoy: Played after an attack damages (or could destroy) a cloaked ship, this card negates all damage to that cloaked ship (the attack cards are discarded) and moves the ship to the Reserve Squadron. (Several players sug- gested similar cards, none of them exactly like this one.) Police Crackdown: Play this card in front of you, instead of an attack or formation change. Remove the card at the start of your next turn. As long as the Police Crackdown is in force, no Orion Pirate ships can attack or be attacked because they’re all in hiding! If the only ship(s) in a Screen is (are) Orion Pirates, then that player does not have a screen for that turn. If a player has only Orion Pirate ships, then he has (in effect) no ships for that turn (although there are some cards that can be played even then, such as plan- etary fighters). (Several players suggested similar cards, none of them exactly like this one.) Legendary XO: Play this card when it’s time to draw new cards, and you can sort through the discard pile and take whatever cards you want, up to the limit you would normally be allowed to draw. You can draw a replacement for this card, but you discard this card after picking your new cards — so you cannot get it back! (Andy Palmer). Suicide Shuttle: Can be launched by any ship, only works at short range, does 12 Damage Points if not shot down (by six points of damage), can be countered like a drone attack (e.g. wild weasel, tractor, cloak). (Joe Turbyfill) Updates: In a two-player game where each player gets two attacks, the expert operations officer adds a third one. The Hydran DN is a hybrid ship, and cannot be escorted like a carrier! You cannot apply a carrier conversion card to a carrier. A Thought: It was suggested that color versions of the cards published in Captain’s Log might be created (i.e., better art) and sold as a batch on e23. We might do that, or, we might find a print-on-demand card place that could make actual cards in small quantities. We are looking into this option.
