Box Sync Inc. is developing a new kind of social communications platform that enables people who are separated by time, distance or circumstances to build close, personal relationships, even in the absence of direct contact. Through secure, curated and shared “BoxS”, the thoughts, feelings and memories of estranged family members, separated friends or an individual's descendants can be saved, shared and protected forever.

The company is able to achieve these goals through the creation of a proprietary online system that integrates the main products known as TreasureBoxS©, LegacyBoxS©, MemorialBoxS© and GroupBoxS©.

TreasureBoxS© consists of a specific and easy to use set of tools designed to improve relationships that have been affected by separation. This can be due to divorce, loss, foster care, job relocation and many other scenarios. Sadly, this need exceeds 33 million families in North America alone.

TreasureBoxS© facilitates hope within all these groups that often are affected by circumstances out of their control. It empowers both the parent and child to identify and capture moments and feelings they wish to share in order to build the relationship in a safe and secure environment. The BoxS evolve with the users and assists in identifying needs while bridging bonds that have been affected by time and distance. The experience promotes understanding and enables the healing process within both, the relationship and the individual.

With time, the TreasureBox system can become a very effective and meaningful co-parenting tool that adds depth and understanding to a child's perspective of their relationships, that in turn, can effect many generations to come via their children and grandchildren.

USE CASE STUDY

Military Husband

Dave is a military officer in the Army, and has been deployed overseas. He wants to send notes and messages to his family, but because he is in a remote area, he is able to access the Internet infrequently. His station is secret, so he does not want to post any pictures to a public facing social network. He signs up for a Legacy Box, adds his wife, Joanna, as an Administrator, and invites his mother, sister and uncle to view his Legacy Box. He adds content whenever he can, and creates a Treasure Box for Joanna so they can communicate specific content privately.

Tragically, Dave is killed in action after 17 months. Joanna, as an administrator of Dave’s Legacy Box, creates a Memorial Box and selects specific content to be shared to Dave’s Memorial. She sends invites to the Memorial Box to family and friends, and requests that they come to the site and share stories and pictures of Dave. 

At the funeral, many members of Dave’s family speak and leave Eulogies to Dave’s memory. Debbie creates videos of the Eulogy and uploads it to Dave’s Legacy Box and shares the appropriate content to Dave’s Memorial Box.  Since many of Dave’s friends are military personnel, and cannot attend his funeral, they visit Dave’s Memorial Box to pay respects, contribute positive experiences and to view uploaded video of the funeral.

Dave’s High School friends visit the site and upload pictures and video of Dave as well.

By creating a Memorial Box, Dave’s friends and family always have a place to go to view Dave’s life story, and to leave messages for him in his memory. As time passes, family members can come to see a complete picture of Dave’s life as he really was and to read his life observations and to connect with relatives that they might not have access to.

Through Dave’s Legacy Box, Joanna has access to all of Dave’s thoughts and experiences, as well as intimate content that he shared within her gifted Treasure BoxS.

Treasure BoxS allows these parents to privately and securely store a digital module with media and messages for their children even if they haven’t seen them in years. It also offers a private environment to interact whenever possible.

Admin assigned users (Affiliate) will have full control over all aspects of the Member Page, Legacy BoxS and Treasure BoxS they are assigned to.The Member page can be set to visible or not-visible, thereby making the Member Page searchable by other users or not detected. In the case of “not detected” Member will not have the ability to receive invites but may send Friend Requests.

Legacy BoxS is an online resource for people to create a visual and written representation of themselves that will live on forever. Unlike online memorials, which are created after someone passes, Legacy BoxS are for people to record their own life stories through favorite pictures, journal entries and much more. Over thousands

of years, generations have passed down stories and mementos to their children, but in this culture that is inundated with technology, we have yet to establish a tool to collect them digitally for this purpose.

My family was able to search and locate several of the Soldier’s Memorial BoxS who served alongside our Grandfather, Jack.

We began a Memorial Box for our Grandfather, inviting the surviving families of the Soldiers Jack fought along side with, to visit and contribute to his Memorial Box.

It’s amazing the amount of posts, pictures and stories that have been added to the Memorial Box. When we began, we knew very little of the man our Grandfather

was, Now, we have a complete picture, a personal

connection, and an understanding not only of who our Grandfather truly was but of who we are and the people and events that have shaped our generations.

Memorial BoxS is an online resource for people to contribute and create a v i s u a l , a u d i o a n d w r i t t e n representation of the life of a loved one or friend that has passed away. Memorial BoxS were designed to be either privately contributed to, by the friends and family of the Memorial Box owner or open to public contribution, available to visit and comment on

without invitation, in order to capture the entire story of a special life.

Every Memorial Box has an assigned administer who has full control over the final contents posted to the Memorial Box.

Memorial BoxS can be updated daily with the thoughts, stories and media from the family and friends of the Memorialized. The sharing of one’s thoughts, connecting and communicating with family, friends and others who shared in the life of the deceased, help to assist individuals in recovering from the difficult loss of a loved one. The Memorial Box ensures that a life not be forgotten. That A life can be revisited, honored and passed on, time and time again.

Using Pictures, newspaper clippings and even video footage I am able to share my first hand experiences, thoughts and feelings.

The Beneficiary Program brings me comfort knowing that my story and the story of my fellow soldiers will live on so that both current and future generations will have a complete picture of the sacrifice, courage, loss and struggle of each individual serving in our armed forces.
