Meeting Minutes
July 2, 2012
I. Brandy O’Mary, president, called meeting to orderII. Andrea Cure read the meeting minutes from June 2012; voting members approved
minutes for submission. Minutes will be submitted and placed on the website after member approval each month (http://maxwellgunteresc.wordpress.com/)
III. Reports of Officers:a. President Report, Brandy O’Mary
i. Welcome Special Guest: Mrs. Edwardsii. Board Positions are available
iii. Charitable Funds Request: $150 Maxwell Cub Scouts’ voting members approved the funds request.
iv. August 11: Family Outing at Lake Martin. Trailers are still available. Cabins are booked. You can pay a lot fee to bring your own camper. Further details about a meeting place will be discussed and shared at the next general membership meeting on August 6.
b. Vice President Report, Christine Bushbyi. Biscuit Fundraisers – Thursday July 5 & Monday Sept 3. We need
volunteers! Please see Christine Bushy for details. ii. Wrapping Gifts at the BX – General Membership agreed Dec 15 would be
a good Saturday to volunteer for the entire day at the BX, spread our name, and fundraise. Further details and sign-up sheets will be shared at future meetings.
c. Secretary Report, Andrea Curei. Meals for Shelby – Shelby had surgery today. A sign-up sheet was passed
around for members to sign up and volunteer to bring meals. ii. Thrift Shop Update – We bought new shelves at the NAF sale Friday. We
are in continuous need of volunteers. Calendar sign-up sheet was passed around for volunteers to sign up for a shift.
d. Treasurer Report, Marie Thompsoni. Monthly Budget Report – Shared increase in Thrift salesii. Projected Yearly Budget - reviews general funds report
IV. Reports of Standing Committeesa. Activities Committee, Amy Edenfield & Beth Davis
i. Veteran’s Day Cards – today we made Veteran’s cards, which will be distributed to the Veteran’s Hospital for the 4th of July holiday
ii. We will host Linked Up, a dinner for deployed families, August 21, 2012 at the pool from 6pm-9pm. A sign-up sheet was passed around to help set up, serve food, and clean-up. Next committee meeting will be July 11 at the park on Webster St. at 12:00 (**Later changed to Java J’s at the library due to heat)
iii. Food Handler Course may be completed at the next general membership meeting (Aug 6) or at another time
iv. August 6 will be our next General Membership meeting. Beth is working with Vicki Law to possibly make t-shirts for the meeting activity.
V. Adjournment VI. Members enjoyed pizza, socialized, and made cards for Veteran’s
