A Message from the Dean

Community colleges represent one of the educational institutions that prepare
students who have completed high school to join the labor market. They also pave the
way for distinguished students to pursue their university studies immediately after
graduation. The Cabinet's decree No. 73, dated 5/3/1422 was issued to approve the
Decree of the Supreme Economic Council No. 4/22, dated 4/3/1422 H that stated the
inauguration of thirteen community colleges, which will be affiliated to the Ministry
of Higher Education. AlKharj Community College (KCC) was one of those
colleges.
First, AlKharj was affiliated with Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic
University. Then, the was affiliated with King Saud University according to a cabinet
decree issued on 5/7/1429. Last, it has been affiliated with Alkharj University
(Salman Bin Abdulaziz University) since 1430. On the basis of the recommendations
of the working committees, which discussed the bylaws of these colleges, the
administrators of Salman Bin Abdulaziz University, including its rector, seek to
implement comprehensive and flexible programmemes in the College in order to meet
the needs of the local community and provide development plans with qualified
graduates.
This guide includes an introduction about (KCC), its vision, mission and
objectives. It also includes the prospective employment classifications of graduates in
the labor market. In addition, it presents the departments, majors, the study
programmes and all the information and guidance the students require in order to
make thoughtful decisions with regards to their future.
Finally, I urge all students to have serious keen motivation and hard work
throughout their studies. They should regularly attend all classes and have the benefits
of all the facilities in the College.

Alumni Affairs
Business Administration Department is considered one of the most
popular departments in the college as it is highly demanded by students.
It is the biggest department in the college due to the various programmess
offered to the students (i.e. accounting, marketing and secretarial and
office management). Notably, 30% of the graduates are already
employees in governmental and private sectors, especially in the
governorates of AlKharj and Riyadh. This is a clear indication of the
contribution that the department helps develop the human resources
members in the public and private sectors. It is worth mentioning that
almost 75% of the graduates are already employed by the public and the
private sectors. This gives strong evidence that those graduates enjoy a
high level of competence and commitment. The department has never
hesitated to exert any efforts in building channels of communication with
those graduates through many workshops and alumni meetings.

these skills and to prepare them to join the English Department.
Upon successful completion of the intensive course, the students
join the actual academic English programme. Over the course of two
years, they are exposed to skill courses and linguistics courses. In
addition to the advanced courses that they study in language skills, they
study courses in linguistics, literature and translation. In more specific

English Language Club
Overview:Department of English launched The English Language Club in 2010 to encourage the students to practice their English language and to express their opinions, suggestions, notices and contributions. The students are highly motivated to participate in all the extracurricular activities organized by the club. The club enhances the cooperation between the students and the staff members in a relaxed atmosphere. The club
includes ten members. Four are instructors appointed by the Department council every two years. The other members are students who represent the different levels of the English department and the other two departments of the college.
Objectives and Activities English Language Club aims to accomplish the following objectives:
1. providing students with the extra-curricular activities that develop students’ skills (listening, speaking, writing and reading).
2. encouraging students to use language in a relaxed atmosphere and away from the classes’ pressure.
3. enhancing ties of cooperation between students and teaching members.
4. helping students get benefits from modern technology in learning English (i.e. the Internet).
5. providing students with some educational tools such as English newspapers, magazines, maps, wall pictures and so on.
6. offering some extra activities to satisfy the needs of distinguished students.
7. presenting some strategies to help poor students learn basic language skills.
8. presenting lectures and discussions which raise awareness about important issues such as smoking and car accidents.
9. screening selected programmes and films which enable students to talk about their religion, culture, customs and history.
10.inviting professors to deliver seminars.
Club Philosophy The philosophy of the English Club is to find auspicious opportunities for students to practice English in a relaxed atmosphere. It tries to open all the channels of learning English which must not be limited to the classroom environment. Students must effectively get involved in English and use it as a medium of communication as much as they can. The
