James Corwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard F. Corwin of Fireplace Road left last week to resume his studies at Duke University, Durham, N. C. Jim is a senior and a pre- med major.

Robert Alan Aurthur, who recent­ly returned from Europe, is spend­ing some time at his home on Fire­place Road. His screen story, “ Grand Prix,” will have its world premiere on Dec. 21 at the Warner Cinerama Theatre in New York City. The pre- "miere will be for the benefit o f the National Foundation o f the March o f Dimes.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Tikkanen spent six days this past week visit­ing Niagara Falls and southern Canada.

Mrs. Angelo Liberti entertained 18 guests at a copper party on Sept. 20 at her home on Copeces Lane. Mrs. Angela Preuss of Patchogue was the copper representative. Mrs. Glen Stonemetz Jr. won the door prize.

H. Clay Bishop, a former princi­pal of Springs School, is now' a di­rector o f the University School of Florida State University. Mr. and Mrs. Bishop and their children are making their home in Tallahassee, Fla.

The John Davises received a tele­phone call recently from Mr. and Mrs. Homer Green o f Tucumcari, N. M. It was to notify the Davises o f the Greens’ viewing of a motion picture taken at the VF (N) 101 Squadron reunion that had been made by the Hiram W'alker Distill­ers on June 4, 1964.

Guests at the Herbert Field home on Main Street over the weekend were Mrs. Field's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred K. LaMotte o f Red Lion, York County, Pa. Mr. LaMotte was visited at the Field home by the Rev. Paul V. Cunkle, who was as­sociated with Boy Scouts of America early in his ministry in York County, while Mr. LaMotte was district com ­missioner o f Scouts there.

Also visiting at the Field home were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Field of Naples, Fla. Mr. Field, a native of Springs, is a retired Army sergeant. Mrs. Abigail Edwards Field of Mer- cerville, N. J., formerly of Franklin Farm, Springs, has been visiting friends and relatives in this area for several weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tarazavich and their infant son o f Lexington Park, Md., are visiting Mrs. Tarazavich’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Makin o f Atlantic Avenue.

Mrs. Charles W. Rush was hostess yesterday to the Wednesday After­noon Bridge Club.

Robert Barker, son o f Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Barker, and Lisa Dougherty, daughter of Mrs. Harry W. Treleaven Jr., are high school sophomores who are o ff to boarding school this year.

Robert has gone back to the Wen- nington School, in Wetherby, York­shire, England, where he had been enrolled while his family was living in Wetherby. Lisa is a student at the Solebury School in New Hope, Pa.

John Fabiano, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Fabiano is a freshman at State University College, Platts­burgh, N. Y. Under a special pro­gram provided by the college, he will spend his first year at Miner Institute.

Seaman Apprentice Christopher Rhodes, U.S. Navy, has been spend­ing a 14-day leave with his par­ents, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Rhodes of Main Street. He was graduated from the Great Lakes Naval Training Center on Sept. 9. After his leave he will receive 14 weeks’ training at the New London, Conn., Sub­marine Base. Chris is a 1966 gradu­ate of Pierson High School.

The black and white whales used in the Whalers’ Festival in June have been resting at Long Wharf, near the windmill all summer. Re­cently they were hired and televised for commercial use.
