Will the REAL CHRISTIANS - Please Stand Up!

This month we celebrate the Birth of Jesus. I challenge everyone to remember

our purpose as Christians, followers of Christ, that we remember the reason for our

existence. We are here on this earth, to plant the seed, and be an example to others

around us. Our actions, words, and deeds are necessary to be TRUE representatives

of Christ. I hope that the message below will encourage others to take their walk in

Christianity seriously while loving others in the process!

MESSAGE:

Many people think that preaching is easy, but it is very difficult. You have to be

in tuned with what God wants you to say to His people. You must focus on what He

wants to be said and not what you want to say. With that being said, this message is

intended to be a wake-up call and to help us to be change-agents for our children,

ourselves, and our churches.

Our scriptures come from the Book of Revelation. The word revelation means to

uncover and to reveal future events for us. The Book of Revelation was 1) writ-

ten by Apostle John, 2) discusses past and future historical data, 3) provides a mes-

sage to all churches in preparation of Jesus’ return, 4) talks about the various states

churches are today, and 5) prophesies the end of the world.

The scripture for today is Revelation 3:15/16. It states the following: 15: I know

thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou was cold or hot. 16: So,

because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my

mouth.

EXCERPT:

Preface

Today is May 15, 2008. The students are taking the XYZ Test for 8th

graders at XYZ Middle School. They have only been testing for about 40

minutes. In those 40 minutes, I have awakened 10 students. This is a very

important test. Yet, they do not care about this test anymore than they care

about their own education.

Education in the United States has changed from the 60’s, 70’s and

80’s when I was a child. I attended school in New York City at an elemen-

tary school in Harlem. My parents transferred me to a private school not far

from my elementary school. I was mischievous, but smart. My first grade teacher, a nun, suggested that I be trans-

ferred to the private school. Here, I was still mischievous, but the strong hand of various nuns, the principal, along

with my parents, kept me in line. Phone calls home, my parents’ belt, and my teacher’s ruler were all that were

needed to keep me focused and on task. Prayers and church complimented this regimen.

Every time a hand reaches out To help another... that is Christmas.

Every time someone puts anger aside And strives for understanding

That is Christmas. Every time people forget their differences

And realize their love for each other That is Christmas.

May this Christmas bring us Closer to the spirit of human understanding

Closer to the blessing of peace!

BOOK OF THE MONTH — Won’t you help reform our educational system?

Flawed System . . .Flawed Product . . . the TRUTH about the educational system from a teacher’s perspective.

A Scottish tradesman, a painter called Jack, was very interested in making extra

money where he could. So he often would thin down his paint to make it go a

wee bit further. As it happened, he got away with this for some time. Eventually

the Presbyterian Church decided to do a big restoration job on one of their big-

gest churches.

Jack put in a painting bid, and because his price was so competitive, he got the

job. And so he set to, with a right good will, erecting the trestles and putting up

the planks and buying the paint and thinning it down with the turpentine.

Well, Jack was up on the scaffolding, painting away, the job nearly done, when

suddenly there was a horrendous clap of thunder. The sky opened, and rain

poured down, washing the thin paint from all over the church and knocking Jack

fair off the scaffold to land on the lawn.

Now, Jack was no fool. He knew this was a judgment from the Almighty, so he

fell on his knees and cried, "Oh, God! Forgive me! What should I do?"

From the thunder, a mighty voice spoke: "Repaint! Repaint! And thin no more!"

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you right now for

all you have done in our lives!

Thank you, most of all for your

Dear Son, Jesus the Christ, who

sacrificed his life so we can live.

Help us Father to remember that

once we accept Christ as our Lord

and Savior that we are “new crea-

tions and all old things pass

away.”

Let us not revisit the places,

people, habits and things of the

past that are not in line with the

will and purpose you plan for our

lives. Let the mind that is in

Christ be in us so that we can be

more like Jesus each and every

day. Help us to do as Paul did when

he said, “Brethren, I do not count

myself to have apprehended; but one

Repaint! Repaint!

And thin no more!

Prayer for December which are behind and reaching for-

ward to those things which are a

head.”

I press toward the goal for the

prize of the upward call of God in

Christ Jesus (Philippians 4: 13-14)!

Help us Father to trust in you with

all our heart and lean not to our

own understanding, but in all our

ways acknowledge you, so you can

direct our path.

We thank you Father for being

the author and finisher of our faith.

We love you! In Jesus name we ask

all these things, Amen!

minding me of His promise.

God will not allow us to be

forsaken as His children, but

it's when we step out of His

grace through worrying, being

prideful, walking in unforgive-

ness, living in sin, etc., that

we become consumed with too

much of things and not

enough of Him. Still learning,

so I encourage you to pay more

God reminded me early

one morning that He will per-

fect all that concerns me.

You see, I have read that

scripture and even quoted it,

but I let it slip. We some-

times allow the cares and the

stresses of things (bills,

Christmas presents, appoint-

ments, etc) to overwhelm us.

I had to thank Him for re-

attention to the things of

God and not allow the in-

fluences of this world to

steal the promises of God

from you. As we approach

this Holiday season cele-

brating Christmas, let’s not

lose focus on Christ. He is

the best present anyone

could ever receive!

This scripture was speaking directly to the

church (the church is us) of Laodicea (last/

worst). It is being described as being cold nor hot, in

other words, it is lukewarm. God is saying, He

wishes it was one or the other cold or hot, since it is

lukewarm (warm/tepid, causes one to vomit), He will

spit them out of His mouth, cast them away unless

they repent. These verses are quite relevant for the

churches of today.

This is what the world sees:

Churches in other states (we know these things don’t

happen in SC):

*people fighting and bringing knives to church, be-

cause they wanted the Pastor removed.

*coming to church after a night of drinking and

dancing at the club (deacons/deaconesses)

*pastors having relationships and having babies

with church members

*molesting and other things that cannot be men-

tioned because we have children here

*pastors doing inappropriate things so much that

they have to pay millions of dollars

*refusing to pay tithes because we don’t like the pas-

tor

*coming to church to be in charge of a program

Is this really the most wonderful time

of the year? A few years ago, the holiday

season just made me sad. I felt pressure to

buy lots of gifts for friends and family. Go-

ing to mall was nerve-racking. Between

fighting for parking and fighting for the

“best deals” I was exhausted. My friends

and co-workers were all anxiously planning

or attending the obligatory holiday parties.

And with my extended family far away, I

couldn’t even take comfort in the promise of

a simple family gathering. Plainly put, the

holiday season was the most frustrating

time of the year.

I didn’t get it. What was the point of the

frustration? I knew we were supposed to

celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, but how

was this accomplishing that? There had to

be some great reason behind the relentless

spending, the anxiety, and the tension.

Advertising held no answers. In fact,

advertising can be very manipulative. The

holiday is treated as if it’s the one and only

time of the year to buy gifts. But how often

are gifts really bought throughout the year?

We buy gifts all year long, don’t we? My

youngest son’s birthday is a week after

Christmas. My youngest daughter’s birth-

day is two weeks after Christmas. My eldest

son’s birthday is the first week in February.

My wedding anniversary is the second week

in February. My other daughter’s birthday

is in April. Then there’s Mother’s Day, Fa-

ther’s Day, my birthday in August and my

husband’s birthday in September, and then

we’re quickly back to December. Yet, if the

newest, most impressive items aren’t

bought during the holiday season, you’re

supposed to panic.

For me, the panic and frustration went

away once I really got to know first-hand

what Christmas is really all about.

Page 7 Visionary “Good News” Gazette

Inspirational Message - This is the most wonderful time of the year!

Now I understand what Jesus’ coming into

the world meant. I can tune out the distractions

and truly celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!

Because of Jesus Christ, there is love like never

before. He teaches faith and patience. He gives

guidance. He makes a way when there is no

way. Jesus is the Rock. The Comforter. The Pro-

vider. The Answer!

Holiday stress and anxiety has nothing to do

with Jesus. Everything through Jesus is good,

and he expects his children to enjoy this time of

year. The holiday should be made memorable,

but for the right reasons. Celebrate everything

he has given you. Celebrate the life he has given

you. Celebrate friends. Celebrate family. Treas-

ure the memories. I remember attending sev-

eral holiday parties with friends from church. I

remember my husband and I saving up for

three months so we could take our family to

Disneyland the Monday before Christmas. I re-

member my four-year-old talking in his sleep

that night, after our Disneyland adventure, say-

ing “so much fun at Mickey Mouse”. I remember

eating Christmas Eve dinner at a family favor-

ite restaurant. I even remember my husband

enjoyed the Lakers’ win on Christmas Day. I

only vaguely remember the gifts we exchanged.

Go to the malls with your family this year, if

you must, but park in back. Skip to the front

praising Jesus’ name! Let us stop making the

holiday about material items. Instead make it

about the true gift of life.

He knows you; He knows your feelings and cir-

cumstances. Give it all to Him; be faithful. He

will greatly bless your life this holiday season.

This is the most wonderful time of the year!

PRAYER for Loved Ones

Father, we know that our lives are not our own. We know that YOU are the Author and Fin-

isher of all things. It is for this reason Lord that we come to YOU because YOU have the

POWER to HEAL. We put our TRUST solely in YOU. It is YOU that we will acknowledge and

allow YOU to direct our paths. We thank YOU Lord for what YOU have done and for what

YOU are about to do. Lord, we pray for healing for the following individuals:

Brenda Albert—Louisiana

Carlin Davis—Louisiana

*people being placed in lead positions who do not

possess the love of Christ in their lives

*sitting in church for 40 years and do not know the

Word

*listening to the pastor instead of studying for your-

self

*allowing tradition to permeate your mind instead of

doing what you know is right

*selling chicken/fish dinners, and at the same time

saying “trust God”

*people who support others, but do not support their

own family

What I have just mentioned is our “Christians” in the

church, this is just the tip of the iceberg, there is much

more. Will the Real Christians- Please Stand Up!

This is not what Jesus meant for us to be as

Christians. Christians are supposed to demonstrate

holiness and love as shown by Christ. We are sup-

posed to be a light in the world, the world is to be

purified by our actions. We are going about the mo-

tions of church and Christianity, but we are not dem-

onstrating Christianity. We have developed the mind

-set of the world. What did God say to do? We have

become accepting of behavior that is against the

morals of Godliness, because that is what the world

says to do.

THIS IS NOT WHAT REAL CHRISTIANS DO!

WE CANNOT BE LUKEWARM Christians play-

ing a game with God!

If we do not change, God we will see us as lukewarm

Christians, which HE will spew from His mouth and

cast us away from Him.

How can we change this – REPENT!!!

1) Repent and ask God to change your be-

havior.

2) Remember that the world sees your ac-

tions and we must let our light shine.

3) We must stand our ground, and stand up

for what we know is right.

4) We cannot allow the DEVIL to hold a seat

in our lives or God’s churches.

December 25th is probably the best time of the year. It is called Christmas, the time where people can

come together and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What is the reason

for the season? For some, Christmas could mean getting presents, time off, writing letters

to Santa, etc., but for me it means to give thanks to God for another year with my fam-

ily and friends. It truly is a shame that people tend to forget that Jesus came

into this world to save us. We celebrate his birthday every Christmas. He is the

best gift of all! It is time for people to under- stand that Christmas is about what we can

give and not what we can get. I think the best gift to anyone is to give them the wonderful news of Jesus’ love

and salvation. So, what do you think is the reason for the season? Sis. B.A.

Christmas Presents

Every year Grandma gets a tin of talcum powder. She always says, „Ah my favorite! ‟Even before she opens the wrapping Grandpa always says, „Well, I know what‟s in here. It‟s two pairs of socks. Just what I wanted!‟ This year, Auntie Vi had an umbrella in an umbrella-shaped par-cel, I mean, it looked just like an umbrella. And, before Auntie Vi pulled the paper off, she said to Mum, “It will match that new coat of mine.‟ As for Mum and Dad, they just sat there and said, 'We‟ve given each other a joint present this year. It‟s a digital clock radio for our bedroom.‟ Do you know, they didn‟t even bother to wrap it up and put it under the tree! At the end, when everything had been given out, Mum said, „We must not forget the gift-vouchers from Debbie and Jim. We sent them a check for the same amount. We always do. “I call that a bit unimaginative, don‟t you?” Maybe, when you come to think about it, Grown-ups need Fa-ther Christmas far more than children do. Anonymous

―Where there is no vision, the people perish . . .‖

Proverbs 29:18

Sharing the “Word of God” and let-

ting His light shine before men is an

essential part of this ministry. Vision-

ary Christian Ministries through the

production of this monthly newsletter

desires to reach ALL people, saved

and unsaved!

The “Word of God” is not a secret

for Christians, it is the road map that

God ordained for ALL people. Shar-

ing, encouraging, laughing, praying,

and most of all, loving one another is

a must for this ministry.

We hope that God’s eternal love

seeps through to the reader as they

read and enjoy this newsletter.

Remember, your future cannot

change for the better without Christ!

God Bless You!

God desires for all of us to be saved. It is not His desire that any should perish. Nevertheless, He also gave us free

will. Our Father desires us to make the decision of following Him or not.

Have you made that decision? When you take your last breath where will you spend eternity? Will it be Heaven or

hell? The end result will be based upon the choice you made!

It is my hope that you choose to follow God. If you make that choice today, you have to acknowledge that you are a

sinner. Then you must repent of your sins.

You must acknowledge that you believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross for you. It is as simple as

that! God hears you and God Saves you! If you have not made that decision today, please make it soon. Tomorrow is

not promised to you and waiting until later, may be too late! Eternity is too long to be without God!

Scriptures for Salvation

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. John 1:12

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to

him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteous-

ness.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
