One volunteer will teach the lesson using photos, audio clips, interactive lessons, the actual reading, and other resources if needed. 9:45‐10:00 Tea Break 10:00‐10:30 Leadership Lesson #1 We usually do two leadership lessons each day. Lessons include: communication & relationships, problem‐solving, ethics, time management, student recognition, goal‐setting, activity‐planning, visuals, teamwork and trust, diversity. One volunteer usually leads each lesson, and another volunteer acts as an assistant. 10:30‐11:00 Leadership Activity Fun, hands‐on activities that demonstrate the point of the leadership lesson. We do lots of small group activities and lots of group activities outdoors. 11:00‐12:00 Student Lessons These are lessons in student government/management and include: fundraising, web planning, organization, computers, student committees, and officer responsibilities. 12:00‐12:30 Lunch 12:30‐1:30 Global or Local Issues Discussion & Activity, Practical Career Training, Art Activity, Other Discussion, or Special Lesson 1:30‐2:00 Leadership Lesson #2 2:00‐2:45 Leadership Activity #2 2:45‐3:30 Sports/Dance/Art 3:30‐4:45 Leadership Groups 4:45‐5:15 Current Events: Scenarios for Critical Thinking Volunteers will find articles in the local newspapers or online articles that touch on current events, and then ask students how they as leaders would address the situations being discussed.
