DAY DUSK NIGHT

ECDIS

The introduction of our Series X widescreen display products for the ECDIS market has led to revealing choices customers have made for their ECDIS platforms.

A signifi cant portion of the market has chosen to focus on the compact and turnkey characteristics of an easy to install ‘prepped and ready’ 24 inch Series X Panel PC. The HD 24T21 panel PC is now the de facto standard ECDIS retrofi t solution.

At Hatteland Display we’ve had to work hard to respond to all the ECDIS software requirements as they emerge. Some needing a competitive and base level PC performance inside the HD 24T21 MMC panel PC, othersbasing their commercial advantage on rich graphics and demanding computer performance. We’ve delivered for both, and so customers now have the choice of no fewer than 4 processor options.

Other features and options have also enhanced the capability of this MMC platform. HDD and SSD extractable disc bays, enhanced RAM, additional COM, CAN and LAN connections through our module integration options, and the opticalbonding enhancement to the LED or High Bright panel with the front glass or the touch screen. The 24 inchSeries X panel PC is hard to rival for features and capability, and that is why it is a market leading ECDIS solution.

A 26 inch display (recently upgraded with an LED panel andoptional multi touch) it has seen strong volume sales for Chart Radar projects requiring colour calibration. The product is reliable, stable and is an economical optionfor bringing fl eets of ships in line with the new ECDISrules. It is now also available as a panel PC, aimed atenhancing the IBS chart radar offering

An obvious upgrade to the traditional 23 inch solution that has led this segment for more than 10 years is the very successful Series X HD 26T21 MMD-MA4 calibrated display.

Computers

The line-up of new maritime computers is complete and now delivering to customers.

The extensive work done by our development team to integrate latest PCtechnology into our range has been key to continue the growth in adoption bythe industry of our maritime type approved computer products. The share ofour PC based sales over the last few years has risen signifi cantly and soour investment in this part of our activity is an important one.

The range of 3 type approved computers includes the HT C02 and HT 221(replacements to HT C01 & HT 216). The new models feature the same mechanical fi tas the previous models but much enhanced technology integrated within. The3rd model is the HT B22 solid state fanless computer that also features theupgrades.

There are three new processors to choose from (Intel® Core™ i3/i5/i7) CPU's onour proprietary designed motherboards. Integration of our (COM, CAN, Digital, LAN)module options is possible in the new platforms in order to enhance thefunctionality as required. All 3 computers have multiple disc bays that areaccessible externally for maximum fl exibility. As well as the additionaltechnical features that can shape a computer specifi cation, the OS support forthese new PC models has also been optimised. They can be supplied ‘Without’OS, for Linux based solutions, or with a range of supported Windows 7 andServer operating systems.

Welcome to a special edition of Visions during Nor-Shipping 2015 continued......not too big in our judgement, but in fact the right move at the right time for this segment seeking to step out into a higher resolution product to match the challenge of how to fit more application data onto a single display. The software platforms will need to shift to cope with a higher resolution, but we’re hoping to show that the shift will be worth it in the longer run.

Our customer feedback has been very positive regarding a display big enough to walk around and talk over whilst on avoyage at sea. A Chart Table from Hatteland Display will answer the call of those who have already startedexperimenting by laying an AV media screen flat into a bridge space. The Hatteland Display Chart Table developmentwill be a total solution, marrying the latest large LED display technology with a 40 point multitouch tactile surfacefor a clear, high performance display table top.

Furthermore, an ergonomic and adjustable pod stand will complete the offering; a certain showstopper at this year’s Norshipping week!

The new Hatteland Display computer line-up will be on display at our showroom during the 2015 Norshipping week in Oslo.
