Opening NCAL Day Keynote: Matt Long Matt Long's life as a competitive athlete served him well through high school, college, and into a career as a New York City Firefighter...until December 22, 2005. As he cycled to work early that morning, he was struck and run over by a 20-ton bus making an illegal u-turn. The injuries he sustained took him to the brink of death, and his doctors doubted he would ever walk again without a cane. Matt's journey through recovery is a miraculous one, and spans from literally learning to walk again to running in the 2008 New York City Marathon. A fascinating speaker, Matt's heartfelt presentation takes the audience through the ups and downs he faced, and is an inspirational story which includes the creation of the I WILL Foundation, which provides coaching, training and financial support to help people overcome adversity and challenges caused by illness or traumatic injury.

Closing NCAL Day Keynote: John Nance Lawyer, Air Force and airline pilot, author and ABC News Aviation Analyst, John Nance is one of the key thought leaders to emerge in American healthcare in the past decade. As one of the founders of the National Patient Safety Foundation, John is deeply committed to helping reform American healthcare from a reactive cottage industry to an effective and safe system of prevention and wellness. His riveting, pivotal presentations use the lessons of the recent revolution in airline safety to equally revolutionize the patient safety performance of hospitals, doctors, nurses, and all of healthcare. John's acclaimed book, Why Hospitals Should Fly, won the 2009 Book of the Year Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives.

We face the same challenges regardless of where we come from. We learned from each others’ experiences while sharing some laughs along the way.6

Be Inspired to HAVE FUN

This conference gave me opportunity to re-charge my batteries - very inspirational!

Gala Dinner & ShowDon’t leave Phoenix early! This year’s Gala Dinner and Show is an event you won't want to miss! The Gala is an opportunity to celebrate, network with new friends, and have an evening of fun. This year, AHCA/NCAL is pleased to present the legendary band Foreigner.

Cold As Ice...Juke Box Hero...I Want To Know What Love Is...these songs were all over 1980s rock radio. At the band's core is founder Mick Jones, whose stylistic songwriting, indelible guitar hooks and multilayered talents continue to escalate Foreigner's musical influence, more than 30 years into the game. Founded in 1976, the band's core musicians were a mix of British and American personalities, and the music felt as if it came from a different place, which inspired the band's name. Stoked with Jones' songwriting mastery and the fiery vocals of Lou Gramm, Foreigner embarked on an unprecedented course of larger-than-life rock, and never looked back. Today, the group is made up of lead guitarist and founder Jones and a group of world-class musicians, including lead vocalist Kelly Hansen, bass guitarist Jeff Pilson, multi-instrumentalist Tom Gimbel, keyboardist Michael Bluestein and drummer Mark Schulman. The result is an evening you'll never forget, because this is the stuff rock and roll legends are made of.

The performance by Foreigner is a separately-ticketed event, and tickets will go fast. Please plan ahead!
