TENDER NOTICE
GOVERNMENT OF BARBADOS
Tender for the Comprehensive Insurance of Fourteen Vehicles
for the Cabinet Offi ce
The Government of Barbados through the Cabinet Off ice hereby invites duly
qualifi ed insurance companies to submit tenders for the comprehensive insurance of the
vehicles assigned to members of the Judiciary for the Financial Year April 1, 2013 to
March 31, 2014.
2. The Judiciary’s portfolio currently comprises fourteen (14) vehicles.
Contractors will be required to submit bids with respect to comprehensive insurance for
the entire portfolio as one package but detailing the premium for each vehicle.
3. Tender documents including Instructions to Tenderers and the Form of Tender
can be collected from the Cabinet Secretary, Cabinet Offi ce, Government Headquarters,
Bay Street, St. Michael between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
4. Completed and signed tenders on the appropriate Form of Tender should
be submitted in sealed envelopes marked “Tender for the Comprehensive Insurance of
fourteen (14) vehicles for the Cabinet Offi ce” and addressed to the Chairman of Tenders
Committee, c/o Central Purchasing Department, Holborn Circle, Fontabelle, St. Michael to
reach her not later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Tenders received after
this time and date will be considered late and will be returned unopened to the Tenderer.
5. Tenders should be placed in the Tenders Box located at the Central Purchasing
Department, Holborn Circle, Fontabelle, St. Michael.
6. The successful tenderer will be required to enter into a contract drawn up by or
in a form approved by the Solicitor General or another legal offi cer in the Public Service
approved by her and must provide surety for the performance of the contract by one of the
following methods:
(a) by way of a deposit with the Government of Barbados of a sum of money or
approved sureties to the value of not less than 10 per cent of the contract price;
or
(b) by way of a bank or an accredited insurance company whose liability shall
not be less than 10 per cent of the contract price. The cost of obtaining such
a surety shall be the responsibility of the contractor who need not specifi cally
make arrangements for the sureties unless and until his tender has been
accepted.
7. TENDERERS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THE LABOUR CLAUSES
(PUBLIC CONTRACTS) ACT, CAP. 349 SHALL, IN SO FAR AS APPLICABLE
TO THE TENDER, APPLY TO ANY CONTRACT MADE IN RESPECT OF
THE TENDER. FULL DETAILS OF THE CONDITIONS OF THE ACT,
CAP. 349 MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE GOVERNMENT PRINTER,
GOVERNMENT PRINTING DEPARTMENT, BAY STREET, ST. MICHAEL.
TENDERERS SHOULD SUBMIT THE CERTIFICATE REQUIRED BY
PARAGRAPH 3 OF THE SCHEDULE TO THE ACT WITH THEIR TENDER.

8. All corporate tenderers must include with their tenders a copy of the
company’s Certifi cate of Incorporation as evidence of the fact that the company is an
existing registered company as at the date of the tender. Failure to provide the Certifi cate
of Incorporation will render the tender void. The certifi cate must be in the name of the
tenderer.
9. Please be advised that the Certifi cate of Incorporation referred to above
means a Certifi cate of Incorporation issued under the 1985 Companies Act of Barbados
or where applicable a Certifi cate of Continuance or a Certifi cate of Amalgamation or a
Certifi cate of Amendment. Certifi cates must be dated after December 31, 1984.
10. No tender will be considered unless it complies with the conditions set out in
this tender letter.
11. The Government of Barbados does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any
tender.

Tender for the Collection, Transportation and Disposal
of Animal and Fish Waste for the period
April 1, 2013 until March 31, 2016
Tenders are invited for the collection, transportation and disposal of animal and fi sh
waste from the Six Roads Slaughterhouse, Berinda Cox, Bridgetown, Weston, Paynes Bay,
Speightstown Fish Markets.
2. The Form of Tender and Schedule of the Works to be undertaken and further details
may be obtained from the offi ce of Markets Division, Ministry of Agriculture, Food,
Fisheries and Water Resource Management, Graeme Hall, Christ Church, Monday to Friday
between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
3. Tenderers are invited to visit the site to ascertain the extent of the works to be carried
out. A site visit can be arranged by contacting the Stenographer-Typist of the Ministry
of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management, Telephone
number 434-5000 Ext. 5033 or 5034.
4. The successful Tenderer will be required to enter into a contract in a form approved
by the Solicitor General or another Legal Offi cer in the Public Service nominated by
her and must provide surety for the performance of the contract by one of the following
methods:-
(a) by way of a deposit with the Treasury of a sum of money or approved
securities to the value of not less than 10 per cent of the contract
price; or
(b) by way of a bank or an accredited Insurance Company whose liability shall
not be less than 10 per cent of the contract price. The cost of obtaining
such a surety shall be the responsibility of the Tenderer who need not
specifi cally make arrangements for sureties unless and until his tender

(c) by way of satisfactory personal securities.
