The NABI Foundations 11th annual NABI Basketball Tournament isfast approaching on July 17-21st. The tournament is the largestAll-Native American Basketball Tournament in the World! This yearwe have 128 teams from all across the U.S and Canada. This yearNABI has gone global with an indigenous team participating from NewZealand!

Championship games will be back at the U.S Airways Center, with theGold Division Championship

games following the PhoenixMercury game on Sunday,

July 21st, 2013.

The NABI Foundation is proud to

announce that Angel Goodrich/WNBA,Shoni Schimmel & Jude Schimmel,

Louisville/NCAA, were named the

recipients of the Phil Homeratha

Leadership Award.

The award, named after the late CoachPhil Homeratha/Haskell Women's

Basketball Coach, will be presented

during the NABI Championship gamestaking place at U.S Airways Center,

Sunday, July 21, 2013.

NABI Youth Physical Education ProgramThe NABI Foundations goal is to teach youth, at an early age the importance ofexercise, nutrition and what our bodies are designed for: Keeping the bodyactive and moving.

NABI launched our 5th-10 week program on February 4th, 2013 at the Ak -ChinIndian Community. Two times a week our programs coordinator, Angelo Johnsonconducted the YPEP program to the children of Ak -Chin and completed theprogram with an awards outing at the UltraStar Multi-tainment Center at theAk-Chin Indian Community on April 10, 2013.

Angel Goodrich, a senior point guard for University of Kansas Jayhawks was draed in the 2013

WNBA Dra: 3rd Round, 29th overall pick by the

Tulsa Shock. In 2008, along with her team thatincluded her younger sister Nikki and coached by

their Mom, their team won the 2008 NABI

Championship.
