It wasn't until 700 B.C. when the Romans finally recognized and mark the winter month and named them January and February. February is the lone month that can go by without a full moon. It occurred last 1999 and will take place again in 2018. February was named after the ancient festival of purification in Rome. Coincidentally, there is also a Roman God called Februus, although it was named after the said festival Love at first sight can happen as quickly as in one-fifth of a second. Flowers given during Valentine’s Day have different meanings. Red rose means love, yellow means admiration, white carnation means pure love, red chrysanthemums means love and primrose means young love.

On February 14, 2001, 34 couples from 22 countries exchanged wedding vows ten meters underwater near Kradan Island in Southern Thailand. Cupid is said to be the symbol of valentines. Cupid is associated with Valentine’s Day because he is believed to be the son of Venus. Venus is the Roman god of love and beauty.
