SHOW YOU CARE: As you look at Jesus’ ministry and teachings, He

constantly talked about and demonstrated God’s love for

all people. His response to the Pharisees was to obey the

greatest commandment in the law.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and

mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37

It’s Winter, the weather is getting cold outside. How will

you and your family show your Christian love and

concern to your neighbors (the suffering, down and out,

homebound and forgotten)?

IDEAS TO CONSIDER: Food for the Food Pantry; Coats/Blankets/Toboggans; Hot

Homemade Soup; Help with “Meals on Wheels”; Give a

donation to the Church Benevolence Fund for families in

need; Assist the Handyman & Women in projects for the

elderly and shut-in; visit, call or write notes to let someone

know they are not alone; and probably the most important

is to PRAY, PRAY, PRAY. No matter what season we

are in, PRAYER is an appropriate way to show you care!

May the world see Jesus in you as you

show you care.

Pastor Mike

Minister of Education

THE RECORD SPEAKS NOVEMBER 1-24, 2013 (4 Weeks)

“Angels We Have Heard on High”...is a carol that tells the shepherd’s story of the birth of Jesus. It tells about the angels, the trip to Bethlehem and their adoration of Baby Jesus.

Luke 2: 17-20 tells how the shepherds reacted after seeing Jesus: spreading the word to others and glorifying God for everything they had experienced. How about you and me? We get so stressed over the decorating, the gifts, the parties and family gatherings we attend. When Christmas is here, we do acknowledge Jesus and His birth, but is that the end? Do we remember to say “Gloria in excelsis Deo?” “Glory to God in the highest?”

This year let’s make Christmas complete by giving the highest glory to God.

“The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen…” Luke 2:20

Minister of Music

MINISTER OF STUDENTS

Do you feel like a misfit? Uncomfortable with your surroundings?

Different than all the others? When you see what’s going on

around you in this world does your heart break? Are you watching

people get treated poorly at school and you think to yourself, “How

could people be so mean?” Or perhaps you see your friend

hooking up with people all the time and deep in your heart you

know you just want to wait until you meet the one God has for you.

That discomfort is the beginning of being a Misfit for the Messiah.

This is what God desires for you in your life...to believe in

something so much that it moves you to action. You see something

is not right in the world, at your school, or in yourself and that

wakes you up and causes you to step up and step out to make

things right. That is what a Misfit for the Messiah should be, that

you are so uncomfortable with your surroundings that it causes to

action...to change things.

See, one thing we need to know: 2 Timothy 1:7 says that God did

not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of

self discipline.
