PUNCH strike with a forward thrust. DRENCH to wet thoroughly. DRAG to bring by or as if by force or compulsion. BREAK to separate into parts or pieces violently. POKE to strike with a short straight blow. YANK to pull or extract with a quick vigorous movement. DRILL to bore or drive a hole in. BEND to constrain or strain to tension by curving. STAKE to mark the limits of by or as if by stakes. PUSH to press against with force. FLIP to cause to turn and especially to turn over. TOSS Throw (something) somewhere lightly, easily, or casually. TURN make rotate. SLICE to cut with or as if with a knife. GLAM extravagantly showy glamour. TWIST to cause to move with a turning motion. STAMP to provide a distinctive character repeatedly. TRIM to remove by or as if by cutting. ? Volume Modifier Experiment GOAL -To test possible architecture forms through a random series of actions. INSTRUCTIONS Step One -Use a 3D computer-modeling program. Rhinoceros 3D is recommended. Step Two -Select an ACTION from the “Actions” list given. Step Three -With no particular reason or explanation, perform ACTION ONE chosen to a cubic mass of 6’ x 6’ x 6’. (There is no particular style or procedure that has to be followed, is open to interpretation). Step Four -Once you are done with the first action, save the file as “1-1_ACTION”. (For instance: 1-1_SLAP). The first number represents the volume, and the second number represents the order of the action. Step Five -Repeat Step Three and Step Four as many times as you want. (You are allowed to repeat actions) Step Six -By the time you decide to finish your volume, you should have a set of computer files with different consecutive actions. Step 7 -Repeat the exercise (Step One to Six) up to three times. Step 8 -Email the files to: [email protected] ? ? Example #1: Example #2:

INSTRUCTIONSStep One-Use a 3D computer-modeling program. Rhinoceros 3D is recommended.

Step Two-Select an ACTION from the “Actions” list given.

Step Three-With no particular reason or explanation, perform ACTION ONE chosen to a cubic mass of 6’ x 6’ x 6’. (There is no particular style or procedure that has to be followed, is open to interpretation).

Step Four-Once you are done with the first action, save the file as “1-1_ACTION”. (For instance: 1-1_SLAP). The first number represents the volume, and the second number represents the order of the action. Step Five-Repeat Step Three and Step Four as many times as you want. (You are allowed to repeat actions) Step Six-By the time you decide to finish your volume, you should have a set of computer files with different consecutive actions.
